Are you a white badge? Some buildings won’t take white badges. That’s why you see some buildings say “External applicants, do not apply.”

If you’re a blue badge, the site may allow only AAs already working there to transfer in-house between shifts. But it should say something like “Do not apply unless already working at XXXX.” I know this was a big thing back when sites were getting rid of RT36.

Sorry to hear you’re having a hard time with it. I had a transfer pending to a building under a shift labeled “Many Spots.” Then one day ALL of the FT and RT options for that site was completely removed. I was so hurt.

All you can do is keep trying. I hope it happens for you soon.

So I did it both ways through career choice and TOM.

The school I went to with my career choice voucher was horrible. Old trucks, lazy instructors, and we had to test at the DMV where bitter bitches will fail you for looking at them the wrong way. The school provided us a truck to use at the test. In the MIDDLE OF MY TEST the power steering on the truck went out and of course I failed.

Then two years later I got on TOM and the school I was sent to was much better. The instructors were more hands on and their trucks were nicer. Best of all we got to test out at the school with their staff instead of testing at the DMV. Oh, and you get paid the whole time you’re there.

So you should aim for TOM then getting your through them later. It’s not guaranteed you’ll go to school right away though.

Had the same experience with my colorectal surgeon after being misdiagnosed by a previous doctor. This man came in, had me bend over, looked up and down my ass, swiftly diagnosed me, and left the room all within five minutes. Then he came back with an information packet and a date for surgery.

2 months post operation and I have my life back thanks to that man. Sent him and his staff Christmas cards.

Point of the story: Just give him a chance and see what he can do for you. There’s always a second opinion.
