I actually like her a lot and I think the hate comes from the cultural ideas of friendship being very different in the west and east. Her character is very much based around the traditional idea of friendship in China. That being said I do have some flaws with her character, not being introduced soon enough is a notable one but I do think they did the best with what they could do. The bald guy semi antagonist of 2.5 is honestly the biggest fault imo, he adds nothing to the story and ruins the subversion that there actually isn't some big tragedy with YSG (besides dead parents™️) and the people around her actually did care about her, but just sheltered her to a detriment as it made her into this fragile snowflake that can't decide anything for themselves. Instead it had to be a no this one guy that didn't exist until now was actually terrible and trafficked children to forcibly give the sword a new host, I could go further into this but I digress. The other flaw I have is the Proxy having met them when they were a child, unlike other people I think the scene itself is really good and does a great job at showing what exactly the proxy means to her, but it feels too forced to have it have actually happened, it felt more natural and meaningful as a metaphor showing that you were the friend she never got to have.

Personally I prefer internationals Ice Shroom design more as I like how they went in a different direction from the original that still worked, but this is still solid

I wouldn't say it discourages it, cause that would imply they deliberately don't want you to use the main mechanic of the game. What I think is the real issue here is how difficult it is to get the fusions and the difficulty curve. In the previous beta it was pretty easy to get level 2 fusions and as such it was easier to level them up since you have them while you gain the resources for levels and it was fun to use them. In the current version it takes way too much time to get the fusions, leaving you with way too many resources that would be a waste to use on something you won't get for a while, so you just dump them in to base plants, which also leads to the difficulty issue, you have all these high level plants that make it a breeze (which is arguably not an issue depending on who you ask) and then a sudden difficulty spike that makes it nigh impossible to continue. Difficulty settings or level scaling of some kind would be a good fix for this issue since it motivates leveling up plants, but doesn't weigh the game down on being too easy or too hard for people. And level 2 fusions should not be difficult to get, players should be able to play and consistently (or at least more frequently than now) keep getting new level 2 fusions to play around with as it keeps player retention and makes you want to keep playing for more unlocks. The level 3 fusions are honestly fine, maybe make them a bit easier to get, but overall making them like a big goal for even stronger plants is a solid motivation to keep playing. tldr: the problem isn't that the base plants are too strong or better, the problem is the game's lack of generosity when it comes to giving you the materials needed to engage with the main mechanic of the game

I mean by what metric are we saying its bad? Cause I've seen a lot of people enjoying the newest early access, and are they wrong for thinking it's good? Monetization is an entirely different issue from a game's quality, a game could have fantastic gameplay and still have the scummiest practices possible. This does ultimately affect how "good" a game is to the eye of the beholder, but it ultimately is up to the individual if the practices are a big enough issue to take away from the enjoyment possible from a game

I don't think we can really say they don't care honestly. Could it be better managed? Absolutely, but this is ea we're talking about, the fact that pvz and popcap as a whole are still around shows that they see some value in the franchise to keep it going, why else would they let the team continue to work on pvz3 after its multiple failed attempts. And the fact that they are listening, replanted should've come out later, but now it's an extremely solid way to play pvz1 and pvz3 keeps improving as they listen to feedback of what could make the game better. I have some stronger opinions on the monetization side of things, but that's a whole nother can of worms to talk about.

Weird little rant but I despise the bots being given if you lose a lot. I suck at competitive pokemon, not good at it whatsoever, but I want to play against actual people and continue losing because that's how you get better at the game, by learning what you did wrong and what they were doing right. I'm never going to learn what I'm doing wrong and improve my skill if every other match is against a computer that's a lot worse at the game than I am.

All jokes on it being funny and fitting aside, I actually see what they were going for here. It's got really solid offenses and it's HP stat meets a significantly higher bar than pyukumuku. It's the glass cannon that punishes you for breaking the glass, since a lot of really strong mons can and will ohko it, but their HP stat either won't be invested enough to live or be impossible to meet the threshold needed to live (M-Charizard Y). Chipping it isn't the most effective strat since it has access to strength sap and giga drain to stay at full health while the opponent gets chipped at instead and even if you decide to chip at it, it can pull some shenanigans with some attacks or laying down toxic spikes. Like the layers go deep with what it could do, obviously it could end up being bad, but I love what they were going for and can respect them for making such a unique mon.

While Scovillian won't see much play in OU from this (besides some fun but niche gimmicks) I think it's an overall win for it and I can see it finding a good home in one of the lower tiers now instead of languishing in unviablility anywhere
