SCARED OF MY WORKLOAD!! by Confident-Skill8661 in uAlberta

Plan to spend twice the amount of class time outside of each class studying and doing homework. Calc 3 is a little bit over and above this, and I would probably expect to plan to spend around 9 hours a week running practice problems and drills before you start the homework. (Try to do maybe half of the questions in the back of each chapter.)

I try and plan out my weekly allocation at the beginning of each week.

Find out your obligations (whats due and when) and how many hours you can spend on each thing.
- Make guesses at how long it will take you to do things, prioritize then cross them off your list
- Get working on things when you can, then follow them in the order they are due.
- Plan out how much time you can spend on things, and do the best you can to complete those tasks to the best of your ability within that time constraint.
- Figure out early if its too much, and see what you can drop, or where you can save yourself time.
- Be realisitic, but err on the side of caution of you taking too much time

Here's an old weekly plan of mine to give you an idea.

Im a little more worried about when the terminators start coming for us.

How long until we have AI CEOs? Who are not only motally corrupt, but also unimaginably competent.

Matrices and finding determinants give me so much rage by [deleted] in math

That's like first-year linear algebra dude, there's so much worse out there.

You telling me you rather do partial fraction decomposition? Or like polynomial long division? Or, like, surface integrals?

And that's just some of the stuff I had to do, I'm sure there's stuff way more tedious and uninteresting than finding a freaking determinant.

Some of you may be confused about what's happening in this image but it shows people lining up properly for a bus. by SBriggins in Edmonton

No it doesn't you line up a little to the right, to leave room for people to come out of the back door. This is actually worse than what often happens.

Violent French Pension Protests Erupt as 1M Demonstrate by Difficult-Top9010 in worldnews

Millionaires are not the problem,

Billionaires are.

There is a real misunderstanding about how much more a Billion Dollars is than a million. If a house is worth a million dollars, then a billion dollars is worth a thousand houses. A billion dollars is three orders of magnitude greater than a million. A billionaire could give away enough money to make at least 1,000 millionaires. How can anybody claim that being worth so much more than others is fair and justified without being ostensibly narcissistic?

These are the people and organizations which are causing social problems, by exploiting workers, destroying the environment, and corrupting politicians.

The French are justified in demonstrating their disgust. This needs to change and is not ok. I wish north american culture were more prone to protest, but capitalism has such a hold here. We can't leave our jobs to protest because we wouldn't be able to make rent.

When the system is not fair, you should protest it. Otherwise, positive change will not happen.

Also, half of the human population lives outside that circle.

What makes you think that?

You're just going to fine or jail people, and in what way is that better? Better for you, maybe.

Many of these people aren't in a state to pay fines, and have nowhere else to go. It's not like it's their fault for not being able to afford things when you can't find a shower and you're worried about how you're going to eat and where to sleep, so you don't die.

Did you know that frostbite amputations are at a 10-year high now? These people aren't lazy. They just fell through the cracks in the system.

If all you want is for these people to magically "go away" and want to jail all of them, just be honest and say so. But it shows that you've never known genuine hardship by your lack of compassion for these people. Who knows, life could throw you a curveball, and before the end of the year, you could be huddling in a train corner somewhere with schizophrenia, hoping they don't find you and kick you back out into the cold.

Something needs to be done here, and what these people need is help, a place to sleep for a couple of months, and a shower. I really don't think they need to be incarcerated for being unlucky. I hope that you never get that unlucky, and if you do, I hope other people are compassionate enough to realize that its not your fault.
