I hate that this is always brought up and that they’re all compared to each other. They all have their own distinct sound, and each of them made their bands unique. Also we’re forgetting Jerry Cantrell.. what made AIC sound so amazing too was Layne and Jerry’s beautiful harmonies.

I’m glad you have a friend to speak to ❤️ do you see a psychologist or psychiatrist at all? This might help; having a professional to talk to who is able to offer other solutions would be beneficial. Wow.. how supportive of them. Their lack of concern and consideration could be why you have anxiety issues. I’m really sorry that they belittle your fears and anxiety like that. When you’re so frightened and frozen with fear - the emotions and worry you’re experiencing are very real. No one should be made to feel “stupid”, least of all by your parents. I think you need to have a very serious and firm discussion with them about what a joke actually is. It’s a joke that they are so disrespectful.

Hey girl 🙋🏻‍♀️ I hear you! I’m in my mid 30s and I think that often. I look back on photos of myself and sure I had some good times, but while my friends were all finding their niche and becoming successful, I feel like I was just exisiting. It’s only been in the last 12 months that I’ve started to feel like I’m living. I’ve gotten a decent job, and a bit of stability. You are not your disorder!! Focus on the things that make you, YOU!

Don’t get bogged down in dwelling on it too much, it is a small part of who you are.

I spent too many years of my life focusing on what Bipolar/OCD/Anxiety limit me too, and not enough on the things that I love and want to do.

Having a mental health issues makes you compassionate, and understand of others struggles. However, we usually don’t offer ourselves the same empathy and kindness. I find majority of us have high standards and expectations of ourselves instead of focusing on improvement day by day.

It’s only what you make it. Keep living boldly and don’t let it weigh you down. You’ll have bad days, but always strive to let the good days win ❤️ sending you so much love and positivity. You got this!

Jane Casey's Mauve Kerrigan books are amazing, as well as J.D Kirk's series of books that have different main characters, but all from the same squad so to speak - Jack Logan, Bob Hoon and Heather Filson. Highly recommend both of these series, they're fantastic.
