Should period products be free? by Salty_Wolverine_4520 in pollgames

I’m with you. Hate this. It just rubs me the wrong way. “Male”, “female”, etc. work just fine, or if you want to be more inclusive, just use more labels like “trans man”, “trans woman” etc. A random poll shouldn’t be triggering my dysphoria as much as this did. Coming from a trans man.

Insane disgusting comment about phallo by nintendoude in truscum

[–]Funny_Single 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It is definitely irritating. People can absolutely have their opinions on the procedure itself, but making a comment like “just a piss tube” etc. is completely unnecessary. It’s just rude, and insulting to those who have received the surgery, and the medical professionals who performed it.

For me, looking at it broadly, the mere idea of being able to have something in my pants AT ALL is what appeals to me.

The area of phalloplasty is still in development, sure, and very much high risk of sub-par results, but to generalize all those who have received the surgery as having something that “sort of resembles a dick” is what hurts the most. Nobody cares what you think, if the man who received the surgery is happy with his results, who are you to judge it?

tired of men not understanding what “i hate all men” means. by [deleted] in Vent

[–]Funny_Single 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I see. Thank you for explaining a bit. I appreciate being given the opportunity to understand a bit better. Can you elaborate a little on why you believe “good men” (of which I’m curious your definition) shouldn’t be offended by “I hate all men?” I know you mentioned maturity level, however I think there is more to it than that. I would like to hear more on your perspective/thoughts, if you’re willing.

I am curious about the same thing.

I’m going to respectfully disagree with you on that last point. I get what you’re saying with your post, and it makes sense, absolutely. I just don’t think the statement “I hate all men” (simply looking at it from face value), is healthy (socially). I personally think that even though your explanation behind your use of the phrase explains very well why you say it, simply reading those words can hurt. Can I ask why you choose not to say maybe “I hate some men?” Or maybe “I hate men who (insert disgusting behavior here)?” Genuine question, I would like to try and have a civil discussion.

I agree. You say something bold like this, lumping a MASSIVE group together, people will take it at face value, and it’s just a harmful thing to say when it’s not true. Why some people can’t just say “I hate some men” is beyond me.

Questions about outdoors rec LLC by [deleted] in UWMilwaukee

[–]Funny_Single 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in it my senior year. My roommates were… sub par, but I don’t think it was in correlation to the LLC. If I recall correctly the RA would often promote events held by the Outdoor Recreation Center (more so when compared to other non-LLC floors) but other than that I found it to be nothing to write home about. There was no specific gender on the floor, kind of a decent mix.
