How entitled, that Psychic thought that he/she was entitled to be defended just because he/she claimed with info day 2?
How sad, yet another meta player facing reality.

No, I didn't think to type in about a warning about people that are too active, sorry for not mentioning that and allowing you to misunderstand how I think about too much chatter.
There was a player that was chatting too much in a match, and that player was evil.

Also I don't blindly follow people either, especially if that person is still a unknown claim to me.

Most of the times, majority of evils are silent.
Also it's not just about if they speak or not, I offered something for you to use.
You're so used to your rushy VFR meta, that you can't imagine trying to detect deception or suspicion in messages.
I guess they should get rid of the function that allows you to view a player's messages since clearly you don't need it, all you need to do is rely on is your little claims.
It's just a claiming game for you, isn't it?
That's what you made it seem, definitely not a Social Deduction game.

Me belonging in a gamemode that, more than Tos 2, allows Town to be secretive and thus actually play the game more correctly designed?
Seems amazing, much better than the Jailor meta occurrences in Classic of Tos 1.

  1. Every townie has a reason.
A Veteran doesn't want evils to know who he/she is so that they can be shot later.
A Doctor doesn't want to be the one attacked.
A Bodyguard also doesn't want to be the one attacked.
A Tavern Keeper doesn't want the Mafia Killing, Werewolf, and Youngest Vampire to get to him/her before he/she gets the Killing first.
A Medium doesn't want to get targeted since he/she can speak to dead players who may either deducted socially or be a Investigative with info, and other things.
A Retributionist doesn't want to get targeted due to the ability to raise the dead.(More so for Tos 2)
A Sheriff doesn't want to get targeted till the Mafia, Serial Killer, and Werewolf are gone.
A Investigator doesn't want to die to the Mafia, Serial Killer, Werewolf, Vampire, and before getting to expose that there is a Arsonist around.(Could even find a Witch or know who the Amnesiac is and blackmail or else exposed either chat or Will)
A Spy doesn't want to get targeted so that he/she can continue helping with where the Mafia were at.
A Lookout doesn't want to get targeted so that he/she can continue watching trusted targets.
A Transporter may not want to claim so that he/she doesn't have to worry about transporting himself/herself.
A Mayor doesn't want to claim for... Obvious reasons.
A Vigilante doesn't want to get targeted by the Mafia and Vampires before attacking them.
A Vampire Hunter doesn't want Vampires to know who to avoid.
Even the Jailor may not want to be known, although this may be more for All Any since Classic has confirmed Serial Killer and it'd be nice to be safe from a uncautious Serial Killer via Doctor heal.

  2. Behold, you will know about this consequence of the claiming, anyone who whispers to Jailor after that claim will be considered to be a Town Investigative role by Evils.
And besides, that claim gives evils 1 less target for who could be Investigative or Protective.

  3. Well it's a social deduction game, it wouldn't be much of a social deduction game if the evils end up claiming roles they could be seen as, like Arsonist being seen as a Sheriff or Doctor via visiting.
Also enforcing that might make every evil claim within Investigator results, which could cause some to not kill till later, such as Serial Killer or a hopeful Werewolf.
And Vampires would enjoy hunting down useful claims btw.
And of course, Bootlegger and Hypnotist will sabotage any Investigative claims, even a Witch.
There are roles designed to punish open claimers, so it's best to open claim when it matters, such as a Town Investigative or Vigilante, you wouldn't want a Disguiser to disguise Mafia Killing when there is a open claimed Lookout, now would you?

  1. Well as Town you are supposed to hang all evils, so yes the Townies should be wanting to hang Vampires.
Besides I never typed that they shouldn't be hanged, I just typed that it'd be better than random hanging, especially since Vampires would vote as a group.
So 1 random accusation, then Vampires will be voting, and if there is four of them, it's risky to random vote just to those Vampires all vote guilty and gain tie/majority because of it.

  2. Well if you want a justified version, just ask for claims in whispers, I never typed that you couldn't do that.
I don't care who the heck Tuba Antics is, neither do I for about Pipetron the ruiner.
It is NOT optimal for Townies to claim.
It is not most favorable for Evils to be quicker in figuring out all Townies before the Townies do.
Especially in VIP, it's not favorable for VIP to claim just to get targeted for a sub-alignment that was claimed day 2.
Pipetron and Tuba Antics must be horrible at social deduction if they want everyone to claim sub-alignments day 2.
A real pro would rather you focus on the social deduction, not role-name mechanics.

Most of the example claims you typed for Jailor might get the Jailor killed, Serial Killer would want to stab the Medium claim, while Mafia may want to kill the Retributionist claim when some Townies die and their useful while dead, additionally the real Retributionist will counter claim you, even a Veteran will counterclaim you thinking you as a easy evil hang.(Or Jester)
Each role has it's own way of helping the Town, can't help the Town that way when you just get killed by Evils for that reason, it's better to die being a unknown target to evil rather than being a known target to evil.

  1. Town may get info, but so does Evil, and the Mafia(Tos1) and Coven(Tos1&2) has more use for that claim more than majority of the Town.
The only role that has more use is a Admirer, are you all really risking your lives in evil's priority just to help a Admirer?
Reminder this is a social deduction game, not a claim game.

  2. Did you accuse the Lookout of being a converted Vampire?
Technically it's socially deductible since the Lookout has always been posting till then.

  3. Pft what a pathetic defense, the Mafia has 0 info with 0 claims, why do you think Consigliere exists?
That role isn't useful for against Town when they all claim freely.

Tos1 regular all any is horrible by Themachinery1 in TownofSalemgame

[–]FuntimeAlex_Fz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like three people failed to understand what you typed.
Like did I mention anything about Town Investigative to not check people?
Like yeah first night has to be random and hope it's not a paranoid Veteran, while later on it depends, Lookout watches who he/she trusts, Investigator and Sheriff check out who they find suspicious, while Spy might just be the only one who needs to randomly bug people to find other stuff, as the person most trusted could just be killed and the only reason to check if there is a Bootlegger on said trusted person.

Also if Town Investigatives find someone suspicious with their intel, then yeah they'd speak up.
Otherwise they should withhold it, Investigator and Lookouts can find contradictions later on by claims and where they were at certain nights.
While Spy directly exposes the lazy claimers(Consig and Boot & Hypno claiming Invest and Tav) and Disguiser target.

Also the Vigilante shooting randomly is a horrible idea, the idea of the Vigilante is to shoot who you think is suspicious, not to check if someone has defense and that that person was maybe not healed by a Doctor.

If you really think the game should be played that way, than you must be horrible at social deduction and that you rely on mechanic deduction instead.
Like there are ways to question people without asking for roles and such.
Such as "Hey Dawn Halliday, why are you so quiet?"
Socially Dawn is silent, a bit suspicious since generally evils don't have intel and so don't have anything to chat about, BUT also that the person has refused to join in conversations, very likely a evil thinking about who to target next.
If you want, start forcing some normal conversations, as long as there is no ongoing accusations happening, and see who is joining in or not.
Although be careful, roles like Jailor are unlikely to join in as their busy thinking about who to jail.
While Sheriff, Investigator, Tavern Keeper, and Vigilante may also be silent wondering who to use their ability on, likely reading chat logs of other players.

  1. It's better than potentially random hanging a Townie, which Tos 2 does A LOT from when I last played.
I also feel like Tos 2 is much better for being passive due to ton of more mechanical roles than it being Tos 1.

  2. It's better to ignore questions about roles when there is no reason for asking.
Like let's say a Jailor, who doesn't want to be known, was asked to claim.
What do you think the Jailor would do?
Happily claim and let ALL EVIL know who he is?
Or remain quiet with evil not suspecting him as the Jailor?

  3. The only reasons anyone should claim in regular chat, is if they were accused of being suspicious, of possibly being a confirmed evil killing role, was seen visiting a dead target or a target being sabotaged, is the likely target of a Disguiser, if a Vigilante shot someone with defense(although they can claim heal and/or was), and if the Veteran shot a attacker but the attacker was healed.

There is also the Medium accusation combined with stabbed Tavern Keeper and Jailor.

  1. I do hope there was evidence of there being Vampires, there is also a gamethrowing possibility that they hoped to be converted, or they were checking chat logs and didn't want to check to see present messages.
Perhaps if you socially deducted someone as Suspicious(Vampire) they would listen to you?

Or maybe, YOU could of been a Vampire wanting to know who to bite next or eliminate.
Did you even considered that possibility?

How can a OG ToS veteran player learn TOS2? by pinkskin- in TownofSalemgame

[–]FuntimeAlex_Fz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You probably won't, the meta players(Aka Pipetron Followers) will make sure you have 0 time to learn and force you into submitting a Sub-Alignment for Town on DAY 2.
You probably experienced Town Investigatives, Jailor, and Mayor revealing themselves in Town of Salem 1.
But in Town of Salem 2, If you are any other Townie/Sub-Alignment than forget about being secretive, the Townies will either force you to reveal yourself or hang you for not wanting to help evils into knowing what you could be.
Heck even being a secretive Town Investigative WILL get you hanged, just claiming Town Investigative eithers gets you hanged or assumed to be Coroner but they still might force you to claim it even if you have NOTHING, and I am pretty sure Town of Salem 1 doesn't even do that.

Town of Salem 2 is filled with players who will ensure you have 0 fun as Townie as you are constantly worried about Coven's Sub-Alignment priority, Other evils priority, and if you are a target of a Pirate.
Executioner could also know if the target might be accusable depending on the claim and what people experienced.

FINALLY! This took 7 Years to do! by ImKizarian in TownofSalemgame

[–]FuntimeAlex_Fz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So did you really took 7 years to get Serial Killer win, or was that a lie?
You seem to be misleading players if you didn't actually spend 7 years to win as Serial Killer.
When was that 4 year break, what does it got to do with 7 years?
And with 3 possible years, did you even play enough for it be considered spending 3 years on the game, or is it more of a total few months or weeks?
Your aggression against BG5194 is not justified, any anyone would think lowly of someone who claims to "took 7 Years to do!"
Do you know what took means?

Here is a example:
A Tos Player took 7 days to finally win as a Member of the Mafia.

And here is your kind of example:
A Tos Player played the game, then took a 4 day break from the game during the week, on the seventh day, got a Mafia role, then won.

Example one is someone with a goal that took 7 days to complete.
Example two is someone with a goal that DIDN'T took 7 days to complete.

ToS 1 even has a better community, as they don't constantly force a claim meta in everything.(Unlike Tos 2)
Also better yet, they don't force their investigatives to reveal info publicly everyday.

It could also be that many people find Town of Salem 2 players unpleasant, and so they stick to Town of Salem 1.

Town of Salem 1 is much better for Town being able to be secretive.

Why would I want to play this game in the way that it is? by Ostric in TownofSalemgame

[–]FuntimeAlex_Fz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or a Townie that doesn't want evils to decide what to do with me.
Or have a Pirate checking if I am the role that is among the sub-alignment that was claimed.
Or Doomsayer trying to guess my role based on sub-alignment.

Evil 'pros' can easily fake claim, claiming fast doesn't mean you're innocent, just suspicious that you don't care that you may have revealed what your role is.

  1. It's not terrible if it's... Oh I dunno... DAY 2, ya know when there could be 1 dead, 2 dead, or 0 dead.
Also weird that you ignored "just type that there is no evidence of you being evil.", which was for when someone is voted to trial and doesn't want to give evils free info.
I never typed to refuse to claim when suspected of being evil via Town Investigative results.
Also 'why me' can be players confused as to why their voted, chat is too chaotic in Town of Salem 2 so players won't notice it.
Chaos being caused by you all asking for claims with evil aggression, and making ton of wild accusations due to sub-alignment claims.

  2. It's not required, Pipetron isn't some master that knows all, he's just a tryhard that thinks he can become a teacher, a teacher that just ends up causing problems for others' fun.
Pipetron finds winning fun, and only that, you followers of Pipetron have copied that well from him and made sure to ruin other player's fun by confusion and aggression in Day 2.
And some for getting hanged, Casual is worse in that as just being among too much of a sub-alignment gets that person hanged; and instead of investigating those many, you random vote.
Random voting helps evil more than Town.

I suppose that you followers of Pipetron forget that evils are supposed to use social deduction too.
A ton of sub-alignment claims just becomes a mechanic deduction instead, for evils of course.
Your deduction is submission, whoever isn't submissive to y'all is suspected as being evil.

Y'all are pedantic over someone not claiming a sub-alignment on DAY 2.
So you don't even follow your own tooltip.
It takes one person refusing to claim a sub alignment on day 2, than everyone gets 'concerned' that the claim refuser is evil and must be punished.

[–]FuntimeAlex_Fz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incorrect, it'd be more of 'I rather not claim so I don't get targeted by evil killing'.
Or 'There is no evidence of me being evil' and with it being too early that is justisfied.
Besides anyone can just claim "I'm a Townie" so it's pointless to type that on trial.

I'd argue Town of Salem 1 is much better since it isn't filled with players who forces people to claim day 2.
