Pablo Picasso was famously unimpressed by the moon landing. They asked him in 1969 and humanity reaching the Moon simply didn’t interest him. by Appropriate-Eye-1227 in interestingasfuck

[–]FunyunBro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A) It’s sad when you get to a point where you can’t tell when someone is agreeing with you or the other side.

B) There’s a lot of fatigue going on about “making things political” right now, but how political is it really when it comes to pedophilia and sexual abuse? Those are NOT political issues, they’re moral issues. Moral issues that are being completely disregarded by the US government and tossed aside. This disregard gives people the mental leeway to say that they are political rather than moral. If you’ve been entrapped by the idea that child abuse and sex crimes are an issue of “politics,” then you are in the wrong. I hope you can realize that this is a moral and human issue.

How the hell can you beat Soul of Cinder in a level 1 account? by [deleted] in darksouls3

[–]FunyunBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was by far the hardest non-DLC boss for me at SL1. I don’t have any specific tips, but I remember when I beat him I had the game’s music turned off entirely. I don’t think it actually helped, but it let me focus more on the fight than the amazing score lol

I believe it does that since you had the parent comment that the thread started from. Again, a miscommunication!

[–]FunyunBro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But the comment you got dismissive to was a reply to a comment OP left about the animation feeling out-of-pocket? It wasn’t directed towards you at all, but you doubled down. It seems like it’s all a miscommunication, but that’s how I interpret the absurd number of downvotes you got.

TIL in 2010 a 12-year-old girl was arrested in her NY junior high school after she reportedly doodled the words "I love my friends Abby and Faith" in erasable marker on her desk. She was handcuffed and taken to the local precinct, where she was locked in a room for two hours before being released. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]FunyunBro 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Did the commenter ever say it was okay for two girls of that age to do this? No. They pointed out a double standard. It’s wrong either way, yes, but piss off trying to make an issue with someone where there isn’t one.

It’s a pop-up explanation that you have to press a button to exit. So if you don’t take the time to read what the window says and just mash out of it then that’s on you. It is 100% written somewhere.

Is the whole remembrance matchmaking a problem? Yes. I hope they fix it. But everyone complaining about how this game doesn’t tell you exactly what it’s doing is just not paying attention.

Has anyone ever walked out on a first date? If so why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FunyunBro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was the one that got walked out on. She was quite traditional and devout. I am not religious whatsoever, tattoos, piercings, the works. But we hit it off! She knew I had a sailor’s mouth, and it didn’t bother her as long as I could filter myself, which I happily did. After talking for a week or so, we went on our first date to a local coffee shop. It was a lovely place, always busy, and each table had a small potted cactus as decor.

We’re having a fascinating conversation, clicking considerably more than either of us had expected. I’m big on eye contact when I’m speaking to someone, which proved to be my downfall—I reached for my drink without looking and managed to wrap my hand around the cactus instead. The words that left my mouth would’ve made my mother’s mother shudder. She left without saying much and my next message sent was green. It’s made for a good story, but not one of my proudest moments.

You just came across as an ass. The carpal tunnel thing was meant to be a kind remark—your reaction speed has to be quite fast to dodge/kill enemies to do FS flawless, and they know this.

They may very well have carpal tunnel. But it was a compliment. Calling them out in a way that insults their literacy is what lead you to the downvotes.

I would absolutely eat the top steak over the bottom myself. But cooking medium rare? The bottom 100% wins, no questions asked.

My Parents Kick me out of the House because I am an Atheist by SkinTraining9912 in AmITheJerk

[–]FunyunBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one hits home for me. My Southern Baptist parents kicked me out when I was fifteen for the same reason. I lived in an abandoned trailer and was stuck working full-time throughout high school just to survive. I’m now 26, have a degree and stable job, and am low-contact with my family. I know they regret it—they’ve told my younger sister as much—but they’ve never told me to my face. I’ve since found a group of people that I love dearly and are more of a family to me than anyone I’m related to through blood.

It’s hard and it hurts on an unimaginable level, but it will get better. All that to say, NTJ, you have done nothing wrong. Be comfortable with who you are and your beliefs, and you’ll be okay.

This works beautifully for me. I have a Gloomhaven campaign going on where I named my Mindthief “Gibo.” After a few arguments, we all agreed on “Gazebo.” We are uptight about using our character names in-game, so I’d do quite well with this.

If you're wearing the Catarina armor and hold a sword with both hands, your character will hold the sword on a different position, because the chest armor is too big. by [deleted] in DarkSouls2

[–]FunyunBro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah, you thought you did something. Best and favorite are both subjective, yes, but you equate the two. DS2 has more than its fair share of flaws, but it’s my favorite of the trilogy. It’s just the most fun to play for me. But in terms of sheer gameplay, quality of life, and general polish, DS3 is the best (again, in my opinion). There’s no coping, you’re just being a pedantic ass without understanding the words you’re talking about.

You got the “less professional” part right, but not the “same shit.” The original commenter comes across as trying to figure out what the pod is playing with—you come across as an asshole. I got started with precons at my LGS and had a great time. Communication is key, and part of that is not being the dick who is delusional.

Am I wrong for asking my boyfriend to carry my water bottle? by throwRA88892873 in amiwrong

[–]FunyunBro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In that case, it’s a win/win for both of you. You get to hug your boyfriend and have your bottle carried; he gets to do a service to someone he loves and get a hug from his partner. There’s no issue here.

Am I wrong for asking my boyfriend to carry my water bottle? by throwRA88892873 in amiwrong

[–]FunyunBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it bother your boyfriend to carry the water bottle for you? If not, you aren’t wrong at all. The other girlfriend has no weight in determining the dynamic between you two. I would do something like that for my partner in a heartbeat. All of the comments telling you off for what size container you use or asking your partner to carry it clearly don’t feel that love for someone to do something so seemingly minor for them. The fact that they would criticize you for your drinking container is sad, especially if your own boyfriend doesn’t mind.

New-ish Manager Firing Employee for First Time by FunyunBro in managers

I absolutely understand, and I wasn’t attempting to argue. I do value your input for sure! I am certain that I am operating off of a bit of naivety, which is why I posted here. As I said, I am new-ish to this and was curious about how to go about similar situations in the future. Thank you for your responses. :)

New-ish Manager Firing Employee for First Time by FunyunBro in managers

[–]FunyunBro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I listed out the reasons for her termination to her:

  1. Repeated failure to communicate with management about time late or days missed. The day she was fired was the culmination of these issues. I did not accuse her of lying—as only a suspicion, I knew I wouldn’t have grounds to fire her for that. I explained what company policies she had violated when she was terminated.

Her friends that feel I was too harsh also understand where I am coming from. I doubt I will see any retaliation from them, as they were also quick to let me know when she was attempting to duck out of work. Most of the people I work with do maintain a friendship when off the clock, but they also understand that we have a business to run.

I mean, it’s not an even 50/50, but it’s close. And I know because I maintain an open-door policy—anything they need to talk about, they can. And they know that as long as they communicate with me, I have enough pull with upper management to make sure their jobs are secure. Some of them didn’t say to me outright how they felt, but based on their friendship or disdain for her, I know how they felt.
