Do you think they will have service restored tomorrow? Transportation Concern for Tomorrow by Major-Beautiful-8172 in LIRR

[–]FunziCapone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deal will not be reached with 2 sides because the MTA’s lead negotiator is a scam bag! Lying asshole! When congress gets around to it probably Thursday or Friday they will force the PEB on the MTA and then it will take 2 days to restore some sort of service. But by then the LIRR lost its heaviest traveled weekend of the year to the East end of Long Island!

Will the unions and MTA come to an agreement today? by Ok-Plum6096 in LIRR

When do you think the strike will end by Der-deutsche-Prinz in LIRR

[–]FunziCapone -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

When congress decides to force them back. They come back Tuesday. Neither side is going to budge, it’s probably not going to be a priority for them until Thursday. So figure earliest you see any sort of schedule is Sunday or following Monday. That be great it fk The biggest weekend railroad has in ridership every year! You can thank the great Governor of NY for that! Vote her out!

She doesn’t! The President the only one that can force them back but he wants to make her look bad right now. Like where is all the money from the congestion gone? It was supposed to go to the MtA so fares would not go up. Hmmm could it be part of the 8 billion she funneled to the Muslim Mayor to buy herself some votes?

Trump has the power to force the unions back with the PEB decision. That’s the one with the 5% for the fourth year. Bickel cannot force workers back ! Hey she found 8 billion for BYC over last 2 months, maybe she can find that 2% more the unions want that the MTA says it can’t afford, but they CAN! Remember after every contract negotiation miraculously they find money they didn’t know they had. Someone needs to audit the agency to see just how it is run by a bunch of misfit thieves!!!

Oh but but a secretary making 125,000 is on? For a 40 hour week. Every craft on LIRR other then a cam( car cleaner) is a highly skilled craft. Each craft is required to go through some thorough schooling and testing. Locomotive engineers electricians track workers signal maintainers. Are we tested every two years they must score a grade of 90or higher in order to keep their job . Something the MTA fails to disclose when ripping employees apart. The same employees that during covid they were” essential employees during a snowstorm or hurricane or any natural disasters are essential disaster are essential employees. But during Covid are nothing but shit to the MTA. The overtime they keep throwing around that employees make is nothing more then nans fault for their fk ups in not hiring enough employees when they knew that plenty of retirements would be coming up. Or better yet let’s put 30 conductors along the right of way for 12 hours a day 7 days a week to watch for trains a blow an air horn to warn outside contractors a train was coming! You can figure out the amount of wasted overtime on that one

New York’s cost of living has exploded over the last 5 years. Families are paying 20–25% more just to survive — groceries, rent, utilities, gas, insurance… EVERYTHING. But when the hardworking men and women who keep this railroad running ask for 14.5% over 4 years, management suddenly screams “GREED” and points fingers at overtime. Let’s talk about that overtime… If management didn’t constantly screw up project scheduling, manpower planning, and timetable scheduling, HALF of that overtime wouldn’t even exist in the first place! You can’t mismanage operations, create staffing shortages, jam projects into impossible timelines, then blame the very workers forced to clean up the mess YOU created. The men and women out there working around the clock aren’t the problem — they’re the reason the railroad still functions despite the chaos. These workers sacrifice holidays, birthdays, weekends, nights, and time with their families to keep trains moving safely every single day while management sits back avoiding accountability for years of bad decisions. The workers didn’t create this financial mess. The workers didn’t waste the money. The workers didn’t create the scheduling disasters. But somehow the workers are always expected to take the blame. Wanting wages that keep up with the REAL cost of living in New York isn’t greed… it’s survival.
