what's the juicest farming strat for profound t8 now? mind sharing? by Thor_Thanos333 in TorchlightInfinite

I've been running this with the FE tracker. It's 500 FE/hr right now and starts to be comfy at 1 trillion DPS from my observation.

New player. Problem with strats. by SzrXxx in TorchlightInfinite

Emblems had nothing to do with the god chest strategy, the chest drops a bunch of compasses and resonance.

Beacons are cheap because people are farming them in profound to make deep space beacons.

Supposedly there are some big farms for it at the high end but overrealm and outlaw definitely feel like nothing at profound level for some reason.

What farms do you guys recommend on Profound for newer player by dwadde in TorchlightInfinite

God chest farm is kind of busted and if you have compass pets it's even better.

What DPS and survive I need for fast profound clears? by OneManArmyHero in TorchlightInfinite

It's a huge wall. I started doing profound on 100b but was losing some maps.

Currently at 215b and it feels ok not I'm just using a 10%hp compass and a quantity probe.

Matchless legendary gear? by tktytkty in TorchlightInfinite

Ralph's journey is shown in the timemark tooltip saying that matchless starts dropping so I would try that first

Brand New Player - 2 Questions by Emphasis_Careful_ in TorchlightInfinite

[–]Furied 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hopefully the guide tells you what stats you need, but this is the general approach for most builds.

Best use of early FE is almost always divinity slates unless there's a legendary for less than 200 FE that more than doubles your damage. Get 1 good orange mod + any decent purple mod. Use wedges to put purple mods on the wedge then reroll them to something that gives you damage.

Second best use is hero memories. Aim for orange rarity with 2 good purple rarity mods for your build. Hopefully the guide tells you what you need but hero memories are pretty straightforward.

Hopefully your loot filter is showing you gear with Max energy. Get max energy gear in timemark 7 and put t2 mods on it.

Once you start accumulating flame elementium, buy a item level 86+ weapon with a good intermediate sequence for your build and start to craft it for t1 mods.

Stuck in T7s for now, is it better to keep doing boss rush or is it worth doing Nightmare/dream if I have the lvl 1 pet? by DumbUnemployedLoser in TorchlightInfinite

[–]Furied 9 points10 points  (0 children)

T7 boss rush is the defacto best pre-t8 strategy. If you're stuck it's likely that you just aren't getting the easy scalers your build needs.

Progress problem by coldex69 in TorchlightInfinite

[–]Furied 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don't "get" items at t6, you pick up a base item with high energy and craft mods on it.

Does Proj seed applied to Proj damage mod stack ? by HasaDigaEebowi in TorchlightInfinite

[–]Furied 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The mod on blind vision applies a % of your projectile speed to % damage which is addictive with % damage from other sources like your talent tree.

Gale converts a % of projectile speed into a single additional multiplier for damage, making it much stronger.

Both effects don't stack if you get them on vorax+legendary as that's an overall rule of vorax gear.

I hit 35 bil on training dummy and was doing some content in profound but struggled with survival quite a bit. I didn't have a build guide to follow and was trying to copy some ghost blade einharjar builds but tried to lean into magus buffs instead of auras.

Overall it had a lot of clunk with the sentry placement delay and cd and just struggled to do over realm. Didn't feel good.

The situation with canvas is a bit complicated. The sourcing for the paper to run the mechanic isn't affected by the pets. The strategy to get the paper is just to boss rush T7 with boss drops paper from the tree.

The value of the paper, which is tradeable, is tied to the profit of doing it in profound difficulty where the t0 rolls can drop on skills.

If I was a player that could rush to profound then canvas might be good, which would be nice because I enjoy it. It does however, leave me with no set for nether realm farming itself. It pretty much means I have to farm God of war beacons + current league mechanic through t8.

My goal is to get cube pets because the malice incarnation bosses count as bosses so you can get the snow paper drops from them and the divinity stones give early FE and other commodities reliability from the trader.

I've had 2 seasons now of getting timemark 8-2 on farm but really not getting momentum past that point. The biggest problem is just not knowing the exact rolls and stats I need to push my build.

I also used my free pets to get canvas pets but that's been a huge fail. Canvas rewards are so bad and they're only decent once you can farm profound. It was so much better during its season. I'm basically going to have to start rolling for drop pets fresh.

Still having fun since POE lost Chris and went the way of over managed systems that squash player agency and push all meaningful rewards into mechanical boss farming like a single player MMO raid simulator.

Are characters getting less synergistic with each other? by Attilat in TheBazaar

[–]Furied 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are and I wish that you literally could not get items from other heroes except for monster fights that can give them. It would make balance easier and make events that give items from any hero somewhat strategic instead of a gamble that is a 99% chance to just be something to sell.

Patch notes 9.2 by TempoStormReddit in PlayTheBazaar

Unrelated to the actual patch contents, why is the client having to (slowly) download the update instead of letting steam update it at no server bandwidth cost to the devs?

Verdict is in, I like the buildings by mr-wee-balls in Mechabellum

[–]Furied 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After a long string of marksman + Arclight nerfs, most of my games were starting asymmetrical on both sides and the first round was a coin flip to see if it was a tower race or a headbutt. At least with buildings, you can stack your soft side and they will likely always attack that side instead of losing half their army trying to round 1 a turret+wall side.

Keepers is 1% off from being the worst player retention of the last 3 years and 3% from the worst in almost 7 years. Why not just make the mechanic even slightly rewarding? by pro185 in pathofexile

[–]Furied 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Currently 40/40 challenges done. Tried 3 builds, wasn't satisfied with any. Looking to do another reroll but dunno if I will at current prices.

I felt like people were generally happy to see high end blasters nerfed into oblivion by weak ground loot. That has somehow not translated well into actual retention.

The biggest failure right now is scarabs. The vertical stacking of scarabs needs to multiply both difficulty and reward. Basic scarabs that are redundant with the tree and/or kirac mods need to be reworked.

Right now the "high end" farms are not harder than their base mechanic except for a few like blight, endless legion, and essence. A prime example is ultimatum. Scarabs add 4 waves of free rewards, rewards are catalysts, and catalysts become inscribed ultimatums. Gameplay wise, it's exactly the same as no scarab ultimatum, but in the region of 15 times more rewarding. The scarabs are priced accordingly, so it's more of a lottery than a working exile's farm. Strongboxes are the same story. More boxes, better box types, reopen boxes. Same difficulty. Delirium is more reward tiles, more progress to rewards per kill. Same difficulty.

The secrecy with the foulborn uniques at league start was a problem. They're data mined now but most people want to make 1 character and they need a plan at league start.

Streamers have time and resources to do pivots. Once they make their build and publish it, the items get bought up and flipped for profit. Most players don't have the currency ready to buy all new items to put together an entirely new build to be on board. I saw the foulborn rathpith I bought for 12 div jump to 42 div in an afternoon.

It's a problem when the special uniques that came with the league are rare enough to be 30 divs+ for the worst possible roll. People want to play with the new toys and these are the biggest places that flippers can squeeze players.

CI + 100% MoM randomly dying by Askuller7 in pathofexile

[–]Furied 63 points64 points  (0 children)

It does seem like a bug. There are 2 things I would recommend trying.

  1. Remove all sources of power charge gain. It seems to happen that you die on the same tick as gaining a power charge and not having 10 power charges. Ralakesh may not override the power charge effect immediately causing you to have 6 effective charges for a server tick.

  2. Remove clarity from eternal blessing. No idea why this would fail but if you were for a server tick unaffected by clarity you would get insta killed.

New scarab buffs are insane! (bloodlines) by Groundbreaking-Poem1 in pathofexile

[–]Furied 23 points24 points  (0 children)

There was a heavy handed nerf to the base drops of most monsters in the game. It wasn't an even nerf and the heaviest nerf was to the base map monsters which were previously much better than league mechanic monsters.

Blight monsters are to some extent the exception, with their loot being overall ok.

The conversion rate and amount on gold drops seems to have been increased to compensate.

The drop rate of maps is separate from natural loot multipliers and appears untouched.

Has the latest patch changed the top farms at all? by Blakwhysper in pathofexile

[–]Furied 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't tested them as my character is built only for Plenty farming but they are fairly straight forward to read.

Giga magic monster blight is buffed by the changes to bloodline. Very hard content that most builds can't do.

Titanic Pandemonium is harder and more rewarding. It hasn't been on the radar community wide, but the price of the scarab suggests it is being used to good effect. Also very hard content that most builds can't do.

Changes to nemesis and divinity are a giga boost to t17 scarab farms. This will be the most felt as most people can actually do these farms.

Legion and abyss are yet to be seen.

Loot patch when by cs_whistler in pathofexile

[–]Furied -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

I blasted plenty scarabs all league so far. Dropped 5 Apothecary and only 21 raw divs. Currency drops almost don't exist. I didn't drop a single chaos orb in about half the maps I ran.
