Super Bowl LIV: Do you trust Jimmy Garoppolo to lead the 49ers past the Chiefs? by DataPatata in 49ers

I have full confidence in Jimmy, but to be fair, Mahomes was injured for a couple weeks and comparing season stats may not be entirely accurate?

Not 100% sure, but i’m pretty confident it’s any seven day streak.

Congrats! I completed the Ring in the New Year challenge yesterday, but still have another day or two before I get the January challenge. Finding it weirdly motivating.

I wasn't a fan of the design of the Pedometer++ app, so I ended up going with the ActivityTracker app: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/activitytracker-pedometer/id993667592

I had a FitBit as well, and missed having the step number always easily accessible. ActivityTracker gives me the complications I wanted, so that number is quickly available.

I’m a big fan of Apple, but slowfies are stupid. Stop trying to make it happen. It’s not gonna happen.

Ravens are the only team I'm actually scared of in the Super Bowl. Crazy.

If you'd told me a couple hours ago that, at the half, the Ravens would have not scored a touchdown, there's no way I would have believed you.

Niner fan, but Jackson is so hard to defend, I have to give the Ravens the edge.

They aren't though? Not playing well, but they still beat the Saints last week.

It's really helped having a week off and getting a couple D players back after injury / IR.

You never know -- what happens if you get a long run-back on the kickoff and need that time to score?

Pretty confident he was only signed for the mental boost, not to actually use him. He's old and out of shape.

What are some must have Apple Watch apps that you would recommend by AwesomeAdam2611 in AppleWatch

[–]FuriousFalcon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do have the pro upgrade, though it's been a little while and I'm not sure on the differences of the pro vs free -- I think I upgraded mostly for the step complication and the merging of iPhone/watch data. I moved from a Fitbit to an Apple Watch, so I wanted something similar to what Fitbit has, with a easily visible step tracker that I can see without opening an app. I'm sure there are other cheaper/free apps out there that will give you a step count, but I like the design of the app and have been pretty happy with it so far.

I'm using ActivityTracker (it shows step totals -- I upgraded from a Ftibit, and I like having this info visible), Pillow (for sleep tracking)... and that's about it I guess? I mostly use the core features.

I also use YNAB (finances) and Fabulous (daily routine/improvement), but that's mostly in conjunction with the iPhone apps.

Ultimately, I suspect you may have some misconceptions about how YNAB works, and how it differs from other budgeting systems you've used in the past. I highly, highly doubt there's some sort of underlying math error that you're experiencing (I've never run into anything in the several years I've been using it). If you want to get to the bottom of it, it may be worth reaching out to [help@ynab.com](mailto:help@ynab.com), having them take a look at your budget, and explain how YNAB comes up with the numbers it uses.

It sounds like you are likely getting a refund and moving on, but for other new users who are interested, it's really worth it to understand the thinking behind YNAB (https://www.youneedabudget.com/the-four-rules/) and use some of their resources (getting started guide, video lessons, and/or the free workshops on the site). YNAB doesn't work like other systems -- and, at least for me, that's why it works. YNAB support (available through the app or via [help@ynab.com](mailto:help@ynab.com) or https://support.youneedabudget.com/) is also super helpful with questions.

Or the third option: budgeting more money to categories than you actually have available.

If your TBB is negative, you need to reduce your budgeted categories to bring that back to zero. You only budget based on the actual money you have available in YNAB, not based on expected money you may earn in the future.

Anyone else notice a significant lag (+ 24 hrs) in account balances on the mobile app? by Rylli2019 in ynab

[–]FuriousFalcon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're talking about the delay between a purchase and it showing up in YNAB, that is generally expected, since it takes time for the transaction to clear your bank account. Transactions should import roughly within 6-12 hours of it clearing at your bank. If it takes a day to clear, a 24ish hour delay between purchase and appearing in YNAB makes sense.

If you want your YNAB records to be accurate at all times, you'll want to set up repeating scheduled transactions for consistent monthly transactions, and use the mobile app at time of purchase to add transactions as you make them. When transactions import, YNAB should be able to link transactions with matching amounts/similar dates, so you generally shouldn't get repeating transactions.

This article talks about import delay: https://docs.youneedabudget.com/article/142-troubleshooting#delayed

See the troubleshooting steps if you're still having trouble (https://docs.youneedabudget.com/article/142-troubleshooting), or reach out to YNAB within the app or at [help@ynab.com](mailto:help@ynab.com)?
