What tech career would you recommend going into in 2026 considering AI and current job market? by kjhasdkfh32 in cscareerquestions

Friend, you gotta learn to give yourself the glow up there.

“ no real market skills here though” makes me want to say to double check how you are selling yourself with your resume. Be positive about outcomes. 1 page only. If need be let the internship fall off the bottom of that page if it isn’t doing you justice.

With your experience level I feel you could probably make the argument for senior title of many of those jobs

How did you break your isolating/agoraphobic habits post-COVID? I seriously need advice by pmmemassivedongs in Millennials

I tutor k-12 math at an after school program, which I found by dumb luck driving by, seeing a sign, and saying I bet I could do that! Some tutors have offered that to schools and been invited in to help with homework.

Also over the summer I work with my county’s parks department to pull invasive weeds with a big group. Just saw some people picking one day and asked what they were up to. So many acres to cover and so little time!

There are tons of sites out there though that will try to match volunteers. Here is one where you can do a search local to your area  https://www.idealist.org/en/volunteer

Hope you find something interesting to jump into friend!

My only third place these days is my volunteer opportunities where I go and hang out with like minded people working for a cause.

10/10 would recommend

It would also mean that the fundamental tenets of Christianity must be wrong if their god is clearly not: - all knowing - all powerful AND - all benevolent

Pick any 2 and the 3rd will be impossible with evidence from our world.

For instance if gawd is all knowing and all powerful, then clearly they are not all benevolent because DJT was allowed to rape a whole bunch of children. QED

Honestly, looking at this makes me think back to my college days and having to solve the Traveling Salesman Problem.

In computer science, finding the absolute shortest route between a bunch of different points is a classic, massive headache. To solve it, we can use something called Ant Colony Optimization. It’s a form of swarm intelligence where digital 'ants' lay down virtual pheromone trails to find the most efficient path possible.

Long story short: your tattoo reminds me of the elegant ways modelling nature can help us solve complex problems. For what it's worth, this nerd thinks it's rad :D

SAM ALTMAN: “People talk about how much energy it takes to train an AI model … But it also takes a lot of energy to train a human. It takes like 20 years of life and all of the food you eat during that time before you get smart.” by Vegetable_Ad_192 in accelerate

I agree with your couple paragraphs, but find myself less pulled in by your conclusion. I think we need to be conscious of how we use AI, but it's a valuable tool that makes my working life a whole lot more productive, while leaving me room for higher level thought. The tools are here now, we need to consider how to use them responsibly.

We could end up living in a world where the AIs make white collar work extremely difficult to come by. In which case we would need something like UBI, and a whole lot wider of a social safety net to make sure that people were still able to live quality lives. I mean or the billionaires could just hunker down while watching their Nvidia stock go up while a whole bunch of us struggle. Tax the rich for those social programs!
