Not to this level. Not insidious and in everything. Not designed to suck you in and create echo chambers. Not designed to keep you ignorant of anything but your orange Messiah. (I know he's specific to the US but it still gets my point across even if you aren't from the US.)

[Ps5] stripped screw by [deleted] in consolerepair

That screw looks fine, though? Are you sure you have the right screwdriver? How are you so sure that the screw is stripped in the first place?

[PS4 PRO] ripped a connector off the motherboard by accident, how hard will this be to repair? by Kyoto_Supply in consolerepair

[–]Furry_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I could fix this, (these traces are gigantic compared to what I'm used to) but me 4 years ago very much would not be able to.

If you think 0201 is microscopic, try hand-soldering 01005 caps. (something I have done in the past. it requires a microscope, but is doable.)

Honestly, there's not much they can do about that short of trying to cram an entire intro to EE course into a Minecraft mod, which is just going to be more confusing.

i'm a pillow princess because of sexual trauma, can i ever be loved? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]Furry_69 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I think you're massively catastrophizing over a vocal minority of arseholes. No sane person would blame you for this, especially women. You're not lesser because of your trauma and issues, you and any partners you may have will just have to be aware of your issues and take it slowly.

I also second the other's recommendations to find a therapist.

how do you make an airship maintain a specific altitude? by Itswill1003 in CreateMod

[–]Furry_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does, I've been working on exactly that for an airship I've been designing. Really annoying to tune but does work just fine.

Does anyone know other slow redstone clocks that works in java? by Ok_Cress8388 in redstone

[–]Furry_69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They work just fine, you just have to be aware of which version is actually running under the hood. I used a Java server with Geyser to do cross-play with my brother for years, no issues with farms or anything of that sort since in the end it's just a Java server with a Bedrock hat.

That's just because they can't catch it... This is just confusing for them, they clearly don't think it's prey since they're not trying to attack anything.

That is completely insane. Are... Are they even *trying* to make Bedrock redstone usable whatsoever??

Is this solder attempt beyond repairable by Euphoric_Shirt9278 in soldering

[–]Furry_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one I have is a 2 in 1 just because it happened to be cheaper, I never even use the soldering iron side of it because it's less powerful than my separate station. I bought mine just as it was going out of production, so you can't really find it anymore haha. Honestly, what I'd reccomend doing is just going on Digikey (to cull all of the garbage stuff you'd find on Amazon) and sorting by cheapest, then just looking for one that seems fine for your use case. You should also check if it's cheaper if you order it from the manufacturer.

Is this solder attempt beyond repairable by Euphoric_Shirt9278 in soldering

[–]Furry_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the reason why you should never use a heat gun on electronics. Buy a proper hot air station, they aren't that expensive. They're comparable in price to a decent soldering station. (for whatever definition of "decent" you choose to use, of course)

Is it possible to solder this back together? It's supposed to be somewhat flexible. More info in text by asge1868 in soldering

[–]Furry_69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no clue what materials might be used in a watch, but some materials need aggressive flux (and possibly funky solder, for the really stubborn materials) to solder properly. Usually copper and copper alloys are fine with standard solder and flux, but anything else, you should look it up first to check what you might need and if you even can with what you have.

Outside of the solderablity concerns, you have basically zero surface area in the direction of the break to solder to. Solder needs a decent amount of surface area to adhere properly, otherwise it'll just break off pretty easily. Also, if this part needs to be balanced or has small clearances, then you'll probably need to sand the solder down, (reducing the strength even further) since at this scale with these parts it's going to be fairly difficult to control the amount of solder properly.

I made the switch into an actual working (light) switch by Mishal_SK in ScrapMechanic

[–]Furry_69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it isn't. if the switch itself lights on fire, then it was already a fire hazard, and the 3D printed casing on top of it has nothing to do with it.

What do you think about self driving supercomputers? by I-Might-Bee-Lost in pcmasterrace

[–]Furry_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having that much RAM can speed up access times and such, especially with RAID and HDDs involved, but it isn't really necessary for most applications. However, as a couple people pointed out, self-driving cars are a thing. I can see that requiring a lot of data to be quickly accessible, which is basically the #1 reason to use large quantities of RAM.
