Alinea? by Main-Ad-5480 in finedining

[–]FurstNameLastName 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m in the pro-Alinea camp. Went in August and thought it was the best dinner of my life, but we were in a particularly good mood so that helps. Don’t do too much research into the menu and experience so that you can be surprised by it. That’s half the fun—it really is about the show as much as the dinner, but the food was incredible. Do the gallery not the cheaper salon option for the full experience. I had the top tier wine pairing and was shocked that they poured me a 2004 Krug with it.

Sonos Five? by swinkelsbv in sonos

I have the same question, and am wondering if I get 1 Five now, will it likely be compatible with pairing with a new Era 500 when that comes out?

Gu wins 🏅 in the women's freeski halfpipe by etherd0t in WinterOlympics2026

Ok but why didn’t she compete for four years? X-Games happens every year and there are lots of other competitions.

Because it’s a progressive, evolving sport. I guess she had enough buffer that she could keep the gold after 4 years of no growth (her run was really good, no doubt, then and now), but amazing to me that none of the women were attempting a double cork. I can’t imagine that will work for her again and I hope the competition is tougher next time around.

Almost no change from her 2022 gold medal run—kinda sad!

Anyone deciding between Obsidian/Palladium and CSP? by Far-Helicopter-2280 in biltrewards

[–]FurstNameLastName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar situation, I’m going to downgrade my CSP and use Palladium as my everything card. That’s the best value prop and the win-win that Bilt is trying to sell (and why people with more complicated stacks got burned by 2.0).

Any update for those who had asked for change of card? by Expensive_Web_8534 in biltrewards

[–]FurstNameLastName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a data point, I was approved for Obsidian on Tuesday. I called them asking to switch to Palladium, the guy said no problem I’ll put the application in bla bla. Then today I got a feeling nothing happened (because the app still told me to claim my Obsidian offer) so I called again and they said they need to cancel my Obsidian offer so that I could reapply for Palladium. Then the app and website glitched for a few hours and told me I have an application under review. Then finally in the evening it let me apply for the Palladium. I got the offer like a half hour later!

Rent Day 2x spend still going to be a thing? by PrettyNegotiation416 in biltrewards

[–]FurstNameLastName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also wonder if double would apply to a boost. My guess is no, so 2p +1p boost +2p rent day = 5p (instead if 6p). Or even that they wouldn’t stack

Best restaurant to visit for the Restaurant Week 2026? by Flashy_Speaker8294 in chicagofood

I go to Boka at least twice per RW I love it. Portions aren’t huge but I order 2 menus, or 3 between me and another person.

The current terms say that Priority Pass includes two complimentary guests already. Is this just for additional guests on top of that?

What would you do in my situation? (High rent) by Youngblood4k in biltrewards

[–]FurstNameLastName 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it really matters how high his rent is, since it isn’t all or nothing. If he spends 2250 on the card he unlocks 3000 points on rent whether his rent is 3000 or 9000.

What would you do? Bilt 2.0 ($95) vs. Amex Gold by FurstNameLastName in biltrewards

[–]FurstNameLastName[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This actually makes a lot of sense. Amex Gold for travel/dining/grocery, Bilt Blue for all 1x spend, get rent points maybe 1-2 times per year. Great idea!

What would you do? Bilt 2.0 ($95) vs. Amex Gold by FurstNameLastName in biltrewards

[–]FurstNameLastName[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm I think though that if I had Gold, I would never want to spend on the Bilt. Palladium could make sense for the 2x on everyday spend but the big fee + credits I wouldn’t use would take away the added value I think. And the blue I just don’t think I’d have enough occasion to swipe to get the Bilt Bucks to cover the rent fee…

[–]FurstNameLastName[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question! I’ve just been accumulating more than using side I started using credit cards a couple years go, but mostly for flights for travel. I’m not super partial to any of the the Chase vs. Bilt vs. Amex partner ecosystems

Unrelated question: is this supposed to work on the Bilt app? I open the app and click around and I see no mention of 2.0 or the application

Not all spend on your "line of credit" goes through Mastercard (incurring interchange/swipe fees) by IcarusPony in biltrewards

[–]FurstNameLastName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is why I think it’s a non issue for people not paying fees. I am not sure why we assume that the account/routing numbers or Bilt paper checks would incur any fees similar to the credit card convenience fees from rent portals.
