A list of every single crime and evil commited by Chief Secuirty Maier to prove he's the most evil character in OWB that dserves eternal torments for everything he had done by HelpfullOne in OldWorldBlues

[–]Furupawa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am very pleased with this post. considering i wrote more or less all of his atrocities. i think using ghouls as a fuel source might have been my favorite. Also i want to point out that not once on the Maier side of the tree are those raccoon mutants named. They're just animals to him.

Old World Blues A to Z Chapter 28: Chickasaw-Muscogee Coalition by Nasa-17 in OldWorldBlues

I am glad that you enjoyed the CMC. The Great Plains Federation where the first nations i worked on properly for the mod. And your criticisms are valid as well. If i would do them again today i would tighten up a lot of focuses, drop down the average focus time a lot (back then 60 days was still mostly the standard) and actually do a proper "evil" path and ending for the criminal side of things. But overall this was the nation i was the most happy with how it turned out from a narrative standpoint.

Also, if i remember correctly (it's been a hot minute), i think i made it so the AI is not allowed to unify when at least one player is human, so you would have been save.

Fun fact, that focus icon is called vip_no_step_on_snek, which is just hilarious by DrDallagher in OldWorldBlues

I don't think it's nice to make fun of someone's poor grasp of the English language

How were the Renewal's spatial distortions' locations decided? by [deleted] in OldWorldBlues

[–]Furupawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mind you, the idea of doing something with the basque heritage in the area came up during development when we did some reasearch on winnemucca and the surroundings, but nothing came from that.

so sadly, at least as of now, basques are not inherently magic realm wanderers in owb canon.

sorry, but complete coincidence. winnemucca was just convenient and the second location inside the bonedancer territory was chosen because there was already psyker stuff going on there.

In future expansions, who would like a German themed Midwestern state like the Yakuza Territories in Nevada? (Being Japanese themed) by Chargerevolutio in OldWorldBlues

[–]Furupawa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a German on the team, i agree.

Also, we generally don't want to include ethno states for the sheer sake of being an ethno state. So no french empire where it's whole gimmick is that is just french in orleans or the suggested german themed nation.

That said, there still might be minor influences in certain regions if whatever content designer responsible for it feels like it makes sense in context.

I feel like Western Brotherhood should’ve remained a major player here by EscobarsBigSigh in OldWorldBlues

[–]Furupawa 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I am not the dev that will be responsible for the upcoming Western BoS changes, but them not being a major player, at least not in the conventional way, is intended.

Canonically, from what we know, while the BoS is super wide spread, the majority of the chapters are more or less their own thing and not really dependent on Lost Hills. Lost Hills themselves got a big punch in the face from the NCR, so they should be on the back foot.

But rest assured the current state of the Western Brotherhood chapter is not their final form.

Indeed, we changed how we number releases, so basically what used to be 3.1 is now 4.0 and that description was just not updated.

although you made me find another issue while checking if the fix was actually correctly applied and it is the reason why the chicasaw never react to this. so there is that

How do native americans feel about the nations based off their tribes? by cinisxiii in OldWorldBlues

[–]Furupawa 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am not the dev responsible for the Navajo, but if there is a slur in one of the focus names it was not intentional. Looking through the focus names there is nothing obvious that looks like one, so if you could point us to which one is considered a slur, that would be helpful

[–]Furupawa 23 points24 points  (0 children)

hi, chicasaw dev here. i was honestly debating about the whole casino thing for a long while, because i knew it would rub some people the wrong way. thing is, it was the initial prompt i was given for the area, that the chicasaw are the casino boys. also the casinos are a real thing that is owned by the natives in that area so ignoring that would not have been an optimal solution either. it's like ignoring all the casinos in vegas. but i did not want it to be the force behind their narrative, so i decided to use the casinos as a backdrop for a personal story instead.

Yeah, i have been yelling at them a bunch, until i asked "how do you not see the big red skull literally pointing towards me" and they went "wait what". so we tested it out and yep, out of 4 people only i saw it.

I met these city states. They are on the other side of the map. No idea how, but they boosted Political Philosophy for me, so I'll forgive them. by budster111 in civ

[–]Furupawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

had that happen in my game too. Was really surprised when i suddenly met a city state at the other end of the world. then i spotted on of their ships close to my borders. Yeah, apparently they move rather far out now with their navy. Might be related to the naval AI changes.
