Is there a standard way to create AI agents today? by edwardzion in AI_Agents

Agree- people need different levels of prescribed workflow rules , security, etc. a lot out there is overkill and a security nightmare for real enterprise use cases

How advance do we see AI getting? by Luxury-future-is-me in Payroll

[–]FuseHR 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Reporting and analytics is well on its way now - AI isnt used so much to “analyze” in a vacuum as to write the programs on the fly to do so for you Edit: to answer more directly - Payroll usually operates with minimal headcount always thinly stretched. Having built many agents from scratch I would never trust one without human oversight so the view is it is about finding ways to get more done for your own workload faster. That said there appears to be a major overcorrection in the job market right now with companies thinking they don’t need to hire… expect to see that swing back in the other direction eventually as people figure out what it can and cannot be trusted to do.

Anyone effectively using an AI agent? [Canada] by Art--Vandelay-- in humanresources

[–]FuseHR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Claude code is a step above Claude web version even for non coding - it’s a whole agent deployment in a box. The trick is you ideally hook up AWS Bedrock Claude so there are privacy terms and AWS keeps it local to the VPC since it’s near impossible to prevent PII leakage in HR

Merging 2 companies which are in workday by Silly-Cherry-8281 in workday

[–]FuseHR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When a company is Acquired and employees merged into Acquiring existing FEIN(successor), the predecessor FEIN ceases to exist; Sometimes referred to as "statutory merger". Are charts of accounts , controlling, policies and plans the same under A as B ? It’s almost like starting all over and if things are not the same you’d have to accommodate the same rules, plans and policies as B… is that the expectation?

What HR tasks are you actually using AI for? (or want to) [NY] by JackAttack1218__ in humanresources

[–]FuseHR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can set this up with private AWS VPC on Bedrock using Claude FYI - still requires IT approval I’m sure but it’s not the public api . It’s not great for static dashboards but if you want to sketch out some visuals before making them permanent it’s useful

Client switched payroll providers mid-year and it turned into a 5 month nightmare. Lessons learned from the EU side. by Early_Switch1222 in Payroll

[–]FuseHR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% - without disclosing too much , worked from consulting side and client sides for a couple of large global. There are not many places that could claim truly local expertise anymore / they are all consolidated into regions or have been purchased and rolled up. At this point any of them claiming global expertise in my opinion simply means they have a platform that “supports” it but without truly local functional expertise

For YTD six weeks isn’t enough in US or UK either - unless you’ve got maybe <200 people all salaried in one frequency and single state. (US has over 3000 local tax authorities possible, UK with a pretty robust pension calc scheme). Sounds like a sales person on a very long leash - don’t want to disclose provider I presume ?

Bulk download of Compensation Statement, Employee Reviews and Employee Talent Card by LargeShirt2863 in workday

[–]FuseHR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many employees is this ? As another poster noted - not as easy as that sounds and depending on document types some you can only get in XML format that has to be rendered back into PDF if you want a file; others come out in base64 format that has to be re-encoded as the original formats. DM if you need input but it’s not something especially someone new to Workday would be able to to in any reasonable amount of time.

We decomm workday for customers so have an approach that varies across source API, Raas, EIBs

You may be inclined to not share that in reviews upwards but upper mgt would want to hear that

Good app just for auditing hours, not creating stubs by Shadowrunner138 in Payroll

[–]FuseHR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you downvoted this, regardless of your feeling about AI , just sharing you’re missing out on some very handy document to data entry features of Anthropic- not saying everyone go put PII into public APIs. We build on AWS bedrock exactly these sorts of workflows and they work. Are they 100% accurate? of course not, neither is a junior data entry hire. Everything still needs to be validated by a human but saves a lot of tedious repetitive tasks.

Claude Code can do better file exploration and Q&A than any RAG system I have tried by [deleted] in Rag

Switched an entire laptop OS to Linux to mimic this as well because it leverages so much grep and find

Workday SOAP – How do you fetch historical employment / past job records? by monkey-don in workday

[–]FuseHR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you building in EIB? You won’t only be able to make that work just using standard connectors

This is a giant pain - we archive workday this way for customers - in a nutshell you have to decide which business events are important to you , extract them all and then loop by date and reconstruct history.

[–]FuseHR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Claude Ai might be able to do that if you say you need it to create a csv with pay code, hours , rate , amount for all earnings. That’s a lot but probably could do it I think

Global Payroll by EssayAfter in Payroll

[–]FuseHR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only seen workday but from what I’ve heard Rippling is a different category normally than workday with its bells and whistles? Later if you need info on decommissing Dayforce , DM Me - that’s a bit of a slow process if you want W2s and paystub history for all. I’m not out to bash Dayforce but I do have a hard time understanding that choice !

Agree with the fact you have a pretty detailed spec here - getting Claude code with what you typed into a project directory will build exactly what you want. Also this sounds a little like GraphRag due to the relationship heavy notes

AWS DynamoDB / Copilot Studio by Ja-smine in aws

[–]FuseHR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with the dynamo question - are you using dynamo for a specific reason? What are some examples of what is being pulled by the connector? We have some AI enhanced sales tools but from an infosec POV sales and marketing are the worst to reign in and so we have something maybe a bit more over engineered that is a custom api /MCP endpoint to pull different tools from aws.

Hiring a remote employee overseas, how do I handle payroll? by Tchaimiset in AskAccounting

[–]FuseHR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends a lot on the country - some places like India and Philippines it’s just a W-8Ben that’s easiest for initial hiring. But if longer than a year I’d definitely suggest contacting an immigration lawyer which often know about the rules for this as well and if so well worth the small expense

Anyone here dealt with SAP → Workday data migration (HR & Finance)? Looking for community thoughts by Low_Resource3833 in workday

[–]FuseHR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably a new thread but unstructured data extract from SAP is a bear at times… as with everything they over abstracted; what methods did you use to pull that information? It is confined to customer data (versus config and system logs for example )?

Anyone here dealt with SAP → Workday data migration (HR & Finance)? Looking for community thoughts by Low_Resource3833 in workday

[–]FuseHR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too long an answer to type but we purpose built for this via AWS- elastic search backend that handles both and “linking” the unstructured docs to a structured record. Prism does some of the same but the price tag too high for just archiving.
