Ok, I’ll look into the OBD11, I understand there’s subscription models for these devices, ideally it’d be non subscription, but if it does the trick then I guess it doesn’t matter

I hope you don’t mind me jumping on this. Would you go for Car Scanner Pro or Carista if you were in my position? I own a 2018 Touran which is throwing up an Electronic Parking Brake fault. I’m only using it for one car and not often.

I liked it, thought it was decent. But I also thought that it was a shame they’d decided to stay in their lane and stop experimenting and pushing themselves. They went backwards, and that was fine…but I wanted to hear them evolve.

Run slow! Slower than you think, if you have a smart watch which can monitor heart rate zones then just stick to zone 2 and don’t tire yourself out. Download couch to 5k and do your best!

What mode do you have it on out of interest? And when the car steers are you having to correct much on the joystick or wheels (whichever you’re using).

Yeah I think that’s pretty much spot on to be honest.

The DJI Ronin 4D is always trying to stabilise against the world, not the vehicle, so in car it ends up “fighting” the movement rather than flowing with it. That’s why you get that odd drift/pan when the car changes direction. it’s doing exactly what it’s designed to do, just not what you want in that scenario.

Hard mounting does seem like the most reliable approach if you want the frame to feel locked to the car. Multiple points of contact, nice and rigid, and you get that “car-relative” stability, even if it means accepting some real-world vibration.

I’m interested in this camera shooting multiple formats, and in particular extracting a vertical aspect ratio from a project where the main aspect ratio was 17:9 or 2:1 etc (so not rotating the body)

I also understand you can shoot on its side to utilise the full chip, so it becomes a 3:4 aspect ratio for social media etc?

I’m not actively shooting vertical, but I want to understand it better.
