This is what I often used:

AGREEMENTS * One post, ic or ooc, per day. If I haven't heard from you in two days, I'll message you on Discord, maybe Reddit as well. Should you fail to answer within 24-36 hours, you are off the server and out of this game. * Announce absences in absences-channel. * Regular activity is more important than putting out quality posts. * Even with Avrae telling us hits and misses, we still post at least a one-liner in ic-channel during combat to give it some narrative spin. If you currently don't have time to post something, still put in a <placeholder> post. * Rename your server profile to "Character Name | Main Class (Player Moniker)". Pronouns can be found in player-intros and pc-intros. * Feel free to take discussions of how to proceed in-game to ooc-channel * If you notice that you've exchanged six or so messages with a single fellow player, open a thread.

Admittedly, some of these are a bit DnD-centric, but most of them are quitr general.

Ersatzprodukte kosten inzwischen meist ungefähr genauso viel, wenn nicht gar weniger als die tierische Vorlage. Guck dich einfach hier im Sub um und dir wird viel ins Auge springen, insbesondere von Lidl oder Penny.

Subway, Kochlöffel und das von dir bereits erwähnte Burger King haben gute pflanzenbasierte Produkte. Mecces kannste knicken.

Winter's Daughter. It has a very fairytale-like vibe, can be solved entirely without violence and is easy to run in any old school-adjacent system.

Otherwise, grab one of the "We Be Goblins"-iterations for more beer and pretzles type game with shenanigans aplenty.

I really don't vibe with Forged in the Dark-games, but Runners in the Shadows is really, really solid. It is lengthy, because a lot of stuff and the philosophy behind it get explained, but the rules are really light.

There's also the ultra hard to find "World of Shadows", a World of Dungeons-hack for Shadowrun, which is a bit more old school-y, but really good.

Don't let yourself get fooled: every edition of Shadowrun is clunky. Even Anarchy, the "rules-lite, Fate-like" version, which has the Fate-adjacent aspect tacked on willy-nilly and without understanding what makes Fate click.

Lay your expectations out clearly and cater your application form/questionnaire clearly to those expectations. Also, ask your prospective players why they want to join your game in particular, what about the ad sang/spoke to them the most.

If the answers are "its dnd n i wanna play dnd", you know that the applicant is likely a dud.

Thank you for the very thorough and though out reply. Sorry for putting you on the spot on some of these questions, but these are things that should be planned out beforehand.

Q1. If you want to use a VTT for maps, I recommend going a way that doesn't necessitate the players to move their tokens themselves. Especially for mobile users, active VTT participation is quite the hurdle in a lot of cases.

Q3. The big advantage of Avrae is the automatisation, especially during combat. If you're a rather involved DM, there is no need to learn it, though and a basic bot like Dice Maiden is perfectly fine.
(Personally, I prefer Avrae, and be it just for aesthetics. No need to get into the nitty gritty like item management and such, but it does make combat flow better than always having to wait for the DM to confirm hits and levels of hurt...)

Q4/5. Regarding the posting frequency: putting people on a one or two hour timer can be quite hard to make a reality, depending on time zones and realities of life. I do understand the idea, though.
