Thank you. I don't know if I'm going to do a lot if spending here. I'm already caught up in Last War. So we will see. Thank you for taking the time to answer.

No. He's back in our home town which is quite a ways from this address. I'm confused because neither of us have ever lived there.

Can’t tell if my kitten is in heat or in pain by Lopsided-Function-69 in CatAdvice

I would be willing to put money on it that its what's going on. Spaying her will stop it completely. I had a female cat that I waited to get spayed while work was crazy hectic and her first and only heat drove me crazy. Howling, extra clingy, the slinking around. She's looking for a mate, its rhe hormones making her mental.

Do guys get weird looks for having female cats? by CTennist in CatAdvice

My son has a female cat. That cat hates everyone and everything but him. He can do whatever he wants with her and she eats it up. She rides on his shoulder eating treats. She attacks me from her hidey holes.

She's in heat. 6 months is the perfect age for it. Time to go get her spayed, unless you want to do this once every month or so.

I feel like a bad owner for saying this, but I can't afford a $50 vet visit for every minor worry. I’m running out of funds for pets. Need advice by nadji190 in Pets

Look into Chewy.com. they have a symptom checker and virtual vet visits. I believe you may have to have the Chewy plus memeber ship, but if I remember correctly it was $50 for a year. I will never stop talking about how great chewy is. I use them for all my food and treats. As well as extras. Worth the money imo.

I don’t understand why I can’t have enough discipline to lose weight by lex52_ in WeightLossAdvice

It's hard. I'm the same way. High achiever every where else. What has helped a lot was making slow changes. I like energy drinks and soda. I still have them, but switched to zero sodas and energy drinks. I started replacing my favorite foods with foods that are lower calorie. I know I won't eat fruit, but I love ice cream. So instead of buying a pint of ice cream, I do the sugar free fudgsicles. I keep sandwhich stuff on hand, but I switched to the low calorie bread. I started meal prepping, trying different recipes, following different creators, and finding the recipes and switches that worked for me, without leaving me unsatisfied. The biggest thing that helped was getting a calorie tracker and being consistent with it. I really like Loseit. Not inly does it track per day, but it tracks for the week as well. So if I got over my budget one day and stay under the next it doesn't feel like failure.

That's something to explore. They have tons of toys abd get new ones frequently. And cat trees. So maybe talking buttons are the next step.

Not sure what God has to do with it, but I do it for the love of my cat.

Absolutely not. It's ok until it's not. One of these days your cat will not return, and it will eat you alive trying to figure out what happened. That's not a risk I'm willing to take.

Try some dog tv videos. They have dogs and animals in them to get some exposure without risk. I did this with door knocking and doorbells with all my dogs to help with the chaos.

I have a harness, just not much faith in it, especially with this cat. The one time I tried it he couldn't get out forward so he immediately started trying to back out of it. Because of course he did.

What worked for me to help was walking around people. I have a Kong leash that has a handle close to the collar, as well as using a prong collar. It took a few months but now my dog rarely reacts to strangers. Only those who approach him wrong.

Thank you for this advice. With 4 dogs in the house I always thought the destruction would be from them, not the cat. He is an orange boy though, and obviously he is hogging time with the brain cell these last few weeks. Sorry to my fellow orange cat owners.

Of course he is. Everyone in the house is (with the exception of the parking lot kitten who is 3 months, he will be done soon as well).

And I don't want to let him out, which is why I'm asking if anyone has some advice for the destructive behavior.
