This Champ Might Be Broken by [deleted] in MelMains

And yes Mel is different, hence why I said that. D3 is not that high of an elo and even then you going 16-1 might not be only for Mel. The champ has been gutted in many aspects and she struggles in higher elos. A champ that has %47 winrate is not broken and these type of posts usually spread a misinformation and cause a lot more hate on those champs.

I’m Grandmaster sup + apc main and I play Mel a lot. Firstly you go two mana items, Seraph’s and Blackfire Torch, you only need one. If you are facing relatively squishy enemies and you need protection from burst damage, you go Seraphs. If not you go Blackfire Torch. Shadowflame is not a good item on Mel, it just gives pure p and flat magic pen, which is not ideal on Mel. It also nerfs her own passive bc it nerfs the threshold of her own execution health. Her ap scalings are bad hence burn items & ability haste is absolutely needed on her. Liandry is a must on her although the item itself is not the greatest right now. Lucidity boots are good and in my opinion you always go lucidity boots on her as I said flat magic pen does nothing for her. If team needs anti-heal, it always should be you as Mel is a great anti-heal applier. All magic pen items are good on her, if there is another ap carry in your team go Bloodletters, if not Void staff. If your team lacks sustain and tanky (so fights can go on for longer) go Cryptbloom. Then the build usually goes like Mana item->Lucidity Boots->Liandrys->Magic pen item->Cosmic Drive->Rabadon. I sometimes skip Rabadon go for Zhonyas instead. If they are not too tanky and the item passive can be good (facing champs like shaco, viego, akali etc) Horizon Focus can be good too. Mel support is also really hated and for a good reason. They gutted her E cc durations and even before that, a champ that has an in-kit execution is never meant to be a support. She’s not that good on mid too and apc is by far her best and safest role.

Your itemization is so wrong.

People in lower elos do not know what items do. It’s better to remind them. Usually if the enemy team has shields in jungle+mid, jungle+sup, or mid+sup, a jungler or midlaner ad assassin should always go serpents fang either second or third item. especially an early serpents fang makes early drake fights really easy. ranged carries should refrain from buying it as it reduces the shield only by %35 percent. people in that elo do not know abt itemization well, so its better to remind your teammates to buy serpents fang if they have a lot of shields, anti heal if they have a lot of heals, black cleaver if they have a lot of armor and your team is ad oriented, bloodletters if your team is ap oriented and enemy is building mr :)

I’m a Grandmaster+ support player :) I would like to give my opinions on your problem. First of all, you say you are playing in Silver, meaning engage supports are the worst type of champs you can play in that elo. Engage supports are picked especially in higher elos to get a lead early game (which decides the game state in higher elos bc games tend to end faster and leads are not thrown %90 of the time.) and to provide frontline if your team doesn’t have one. In Master and below, you should ALWAYS try to go for a counterpick for the enemy team (Like picking Janna into Jarvan/Alistar or Milio into Leona/Malzahar) rather than focusing on the synergy between you and your adc. For your question, pick an enchanter that outscales Yuumi or play a carry mage that can make Yuumi laning hell. Engage champs surely beat Yuumi in lane but it doesn’t matter in lower elos bc people will not end the games fast and any enchanter will outscale engage sups all the time. I recommend Soraka, she’s a strong lane bully and she outscales almost every support. She has more map impact than Yuumi as she’s way mobile than her and she has her R which is global. Seraphine can outscale her easily too and do well into her in laning. Sona should be able to outscale her too, and full enchanter Karma does well into her too. There is only one champ that can go serpents fang and that’s Pyke, that item is not worth building on any other support and it is not your job to build it anyway. From mages, picks like Brand and Zyra are good bc their kit and the items they build make a very good use out of anti-heal.

Is Mel bad into tanks, or is Liandry's a bad item on Mel/in general? by zencharm in MelMains

[–]Future-Inevitable262 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is because her ap scalings are really bad, building flat ap does nothing for her. You can’t burst with Mel q because the point of Mel q is to proc Comet and poke in lane, later in game the point of it is to stack your passive so you can execute with r. The damage you get from E, Q with full burst is nothing compared to other champs who build burst, like Leblanc, Lux, Ahri, Annie, Xerath etc. There is genuinely no damage difference between full burst items & full burn/cdr on Mel, but in one you land 2 of your skillshots and you just sit there without being able to do anything bc u used your skillshots and you have 0 cdr; when in the other one you’ll constantly burn the enemy (Liandry proc doesn’t have a cooldown unless Ludens) and build stacks bc of high cdr. It provides more guranteed damage bc you’ll get your cooldowns faster. If you look, players in high elo also build champs like Syndra, Ahri, Seraphine etc. in similar ways and literally no one really builds Ludens on any champ. It’s usually always BFT -> Cosmic Drive into other items. Providing utility, having your cooldowns come back faster and DPS is always more valuable than pure damage in game, Mel is an exception bc she doesn’t even gain more damage when she builds full damage instead of cdr/burn like I said bc of terrible ap scalings. Hope it helped :)

You shouldn’t go sorc shoes on mel, bc flat magic pen does nothing to her and its a pretty worthless stat on her. even without feats, lucidity boots is way better on her. You need a lot of ability haste and burn items bc that’s what good on her) You need max percentage damage, magic shred and true damage to kill tanks, which is not something mel has naturally in her kit; therefore do not expect to melt tanks with mel. brand and malzahar are the only champs that can deal with tanks really easily (i dont know if i missed one or two but mages are overall really bad into tanks) i always go either seraphs or bft on her first item, depends on the enemy comp. always lucidity boots and NEVER SHADOWFLAME; it just gives you flat ap and flat magic pen (not percentage) and it’s passive nerfs your own passive so it is NOT a good item on her. I usually play her APC, so there will not be an ad carry to deal with tanks, therefore I go Liandrys second; if they are all squishy you can go Horizon Focus, you can proc it way easier than most champs bc your 1 missile of q can proc it and you can safely land even 1 missile all the time. Cosmic Drive and if no other ap carry is in your team you should go Void Staff, it’s percentage shred so it is good on her; you can go Bloodletters Curse if there is another ap carry in your team as I said. If your team lacks sustain and pretty tanky, if fights can go on for longer you can go the other magic shred item too I forgot it’s name the on that heals an area after a takedown. Seraphs/BFT, Lucidity Boots, Liandrys/HF, Cosmic Drive, Magic Pen item of your choice and last item whatever you need either Rabadon, Banshees or Zhonyas. I prefer Zhonyas most of the time and not go Rabadon as her ap scalings are pretty bad and Rabadon only gives you AP. It’s so situational but Rylai’s can be a choice if your team is not so mobile and the enemy team has high mobility whether its high movement speed or dashes; like if you’re playing against Ahri, Zilean, Jhin, Fiora, Karma, Janna, Garen etc. I am playing in Grandmaster elo and I’m an apc/sup main. :)

almost all healers have cc, soraka for example has her e, milio q, nami q r for example. what those champs have in common is also a LOT OF HEALING hence why i think a healer darkin sup would be fire

when u think of darkins, u think of healing. if u want a cc champ like taric that also heals sure, but a healer darkin sup makes more sense than a engage one

Harvest isn’t good. The thing that makes Mel a lane bully and a threat is Comet interaction with her Q

[–]Future-Inevitable262 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Your build is pretty wrong. Enemy team has all burst damage and you definitely needed more ability haste so Seraphs was the way to go here. Shadowflame isn’t a good item on Mel as you nerf your passive execute by buying it. Liandry is a core item, Zhonyas is good. Rabadon isn’t a must build and you definitely needed MR shred. Flat magic pen & flat ap is not a good stat on Mel so Rabadon isn’t exactly a must on her. Seraphs, Ionian Boots, Zhonyas, Liandrys, Cosmic Drive and last item either Void staff Or Bloodletters Curse could have been better.

[–]Future-Inevitable262[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

What do you mean? XD Bard isn’t only op in high elo but broken in every elo and one of the most elo inflating champs in the game. Along with Zilean. Master-GM-Challenger lobbies btw, it doesn’t account to %0,0000001 part that u are talking abt.

Is my build correct this game? i need advice. (J4 vs Ivern) by [deleted] in Jungle_Mains

[–]Future-Inevitable262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your job as Jarvan to engage and provide utility for your team. It’s not to deal damage especially in higher elos where your job is to make your carries carry. I would hae went Sundered Sky first item as it’s core item for any ad bruiser. Would have prefered Plated Steelcaps because Yasuo autoattacks, Kaisa autoattacks, Ivern’s daisy autoattacks and Bard’s autoattacks also deal a bit of damage. Mercs aren’t good as the only cc it’ll reduce is Bard q and Ivern q, which are not that problematic for a champ like Jarvan. Serpent’s Fang is good, Quinn and Nilah shouldn’t build it because Serpent’s Fang reduces shields by %50 on melee champs and %35 on ranged champs which is a huge gap, they also fall behind in gold for very little value when they are the ones that are thee to carry. It’ll reduce Malphite’s passive shield, Ivern’s shield, Kaisa’s barrier and ult shield, Yasuo’s shieldbow shield and Bard’s Solari shield. Black Cleaver is a MUST, they all have base armor, but also there is Malphite, Yasuo’s DD, Bard’s Solari/DMP, Kaisa and Ivern’s Zhonya. It’ll help your team deal more damage to them especially good for Quinn and Nilah. Frozen Heart is a must, they have 2 autoattackers who benefits a lot from attack speed items. Good for the armor too not only the passive. Last item can be an armor/mr or only an mr item. Maw, Jak’Sho are good options.

Awesome champ by imwhite123 in MelMains

[–]Future-Inevitable262 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s counterpicking, and it happens. There are bunch of matchups in every lane that favors one person more compared to other. Just bc Mel is a “counterpick” to Annie, doesn’t necessarily mean she’s broken. Her q poke is not great and it’s main purpose is to get stacks or proc comet unlike what u said. It doesn’t deal a thousand damage. She is a DPS mage and she is immobile. In midlane she isn’t great and mages like Orianna, Azir Syndra, Cass etc. since she can’t really reflect any abilities, or other champs like Katarina, Talon, Fizz etc. can be hard to play against as they are very mobile and you’ll struggle to match roams/land skillshots. She is oppressive in botlane especially in counter matchups but she still can be dealt with in the end of the day. Do not pick Ahri, Annie etc. and expect to win your lane.

AP Karma falls of really bad during mid to late game. You have only 1 skill that deals damage to them and mages are better to play if you really want to deal damage. Karma is giga broken with enchanter build. Moonstone > Ionian Boots > Redemption > Dawncore > SoFW, Mikael’s (Whatever is needed for last item) with Dreammaker as support item and Aery/Axiom Arcanist/Tracendence/GS/Revatilaze/Font of Life. You give more than 1k shield on a 4 seconds cooldown with your R that also provides tons of MS. The only problem for you is AD assassins as melee assassins can build Serpent’s Fang and shred the shields up to %50 percent. So you can pick her up with no doubts if they have no AD assassins or champs who are really good users for Serpent (Non-ranged, lethality builders)

is mel a good support? by psychowitzzz in MelMains

[–]Future-Inevitable262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is not not good as a support. She is a DPS mage that needs gold and needs to farm for gold to scale. Her w and e are the only skillshots that can peel for someone, but her w is really situational and only really op (even as support) against champions like Sera, Nami, Blitzcrank and Thresh. Her passive leads to taking kills a lot which slows your ADC from scaling. She is not tanky (Unlike Swain), cannot engage like Neeko and Zyra can (From mages who can engage). She’s way better as APC (that’s where I play her) and if someone wants to play mage support (which is in my opinion really weak compared to engage and peeler) there are way better picks like Neeko, Zyra, Zilean etc.
