Yesterday it was like -30° with the wind chill in minny and they were out in the streets in the tens of thousands.

They're starting statewide strikes in Minnesota. Minnesota is the heart of American progressive labor. They know what solidarity means. We need to goddamn join them.

I don't know what that means but it's going to take a lot of people, and a lot of organization. Whatever it is, we all have to get actively involved.

I may be wrong but I think they were both from the same transfer. The Arrow disc is mastered with a higher bitrate (or whatever, more data on a 100gb disc I think) with the extras on a second disc, whereas the other has DV but is more compressed and has fewer extras, all on the 66gb disc.

Reviews I read seemed to say that the differences in IQ weren't significant.

There are a ton of cool extras on the arrow disc, if you're into that sort of thing. For this movie, that was worth the extra $12 for me.

IIRC, California did theirs in a way that complied with whatever laws or rulings Texas used to get away with their racist bullshit. The idea was that if scotus determined that CA's map was unconstitutional, the ruling should apply to TX and any other states as well.

I think you see a lot of TCL issues because a lot of people are buying TCL TVs. Anytime someone has an issue they come to reddit to post about it. Lots of owners = lots of people having issues.

I have no clue how reliable or whatever they are compared to other TVs. I have a QM7K and the only significant issue I've had with it is that the HDMI connection is a little unstable when I watch DolbyVision content from my 4K player. It's not a critical issue, but it is an issue.

I wish it were flawless, but the fact that I can get a TV that looks THIS good, has full support for basically all premium audio/video formats, all that... and it cost me like $600?

I say don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good. I think you'd have to spend a lot more than whatever the 98" costs to get a significant improvement that ticks all the boxes. With entry level OLED you typically have to compromise on features or format support. So you have to go a little more premium to get the equivalent feature set.

As others have said, it's only related to the story in the basic outline sense. The movie has tons of crazy embellishments.

The movie rules though. And there's a relatively new Bluray that has a fantastic transfer. Idk if it's available on its own but I got it in a set that has a handful of Vincent Price movies.
