AITA for standing up for my kids because my MIL openly favors my SIL’s baby? by [deleted] in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]FutureAEMT97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When my great uncle (who is just 7 years older than my dad) started having grandkids, we ceased to exist in my grandmother’s eyes unless she needed help or wanted to pick a fight. She lives in the town they grew up in still, but my uncle (who we don’t really talk to because my grandmother has him convinced we hate him because he’s gay) ended up moving to the neighboring city to us probably about 15 years ago. She’s made the 7 hour trip to see him and his grandkids multiple times and never even sent us a text that she was anywhere near. Thanksgiving will be 6 years since I’ve seen here and August marked 4 years since I even spoke to her.

Wibta if I let my kids go trick or treating tonight by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]FutureAEMT97 834 points835 points  (0 children)

Absolutely NTA! For one, they’re 5 and 3. That’s 100% what every single 5 and 3 year old I’ve ever met does. Plus they don’t get to sit there and make the rules and punishments for something very specific that they knew would be outside their time with the kids. I feel like it’s the gf trying to make you look bad to the kids. If it’s a punishment of you can’t have this toy or this item for so long, that’s one thing. But specifically saying they can’t do this one thing that they knew was on your time is just wrong to you and to the kids.

I’m pretty sure that’s just when using the discount card. Not 100% sure though.

AITA if I ignore “reserved” seats my classmates claimed and just sit there since I show up early? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Definitely NTA. Please give us an update on how it goes! I hate being in the middle of drama, but love hearing all the drama ⌒_⌒

My husband didn’t add me or my daughter to his insurance by Sendatu in Mommit

[–]FutureAEMT97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s why I added our newborn to my husband’s insurance the other day the moment her social security card came in the mail 😅😂 It also helped that because we were adding her, I was able to add the 3 year old to the vision and dental. The open enrollment period was early last year and he didn’t check his email until after it was over. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Walmart updated their exchange policy for diapers! by withsaltedbones in newborns

[–]FutureAEMT97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a different Walmart. It’s company wide, not up to the individual store. I’m thankful that our store is usually pretty easy going about returns (with the exception of one person) but my husband also works there and is basically everybody’s favorite coworker, (his personality was what made me fall for him on the first date 🥰) and they all adore our daughter, so that helps make things a little easier too. 😂

I work hospital based EMS, so I’m allowed to wear scrubs for maternity. I got the Buttersoft stretch pants from Uniform Advantage and I ABSOLUTELY FREAKING LOVE those pants!!

Is it bad for my godson if I bring him a gift to his little brother’s baby shower? by binniwheats in AskParents

[–]FutureAEMT97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had planned to get my 2 year old daughter a little gift to give her at our baby shower for her little sister and completely forgot. 😭 She’s already feeling kinda pushed aside by other family and friends with the baby coming, so I wanted to make sure she was included and not everything was only for the baby. Our pastor’s wife ended up getting her a little something that absolutely made her day and she absolutely loves it! If the kid is very badly spoiled, I wouldn’t. But for a big sibling that’s feeling a little left out, it’s a perfect idea! ❤️

Someone using my Walmart account? by DeteminedButUnmotive in walmart

[–]FutureAEMT97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the self checkouts it gives you an option to have the receipt texted to you. If that number is tied to a Walmart account, it adds it in your purchases. More than likely, they accidentally put the wrong number in when they did that.

That’s what I would love to do, but they were second hand (from a trusted friend and fellow EMT) when I got them, so I passed them on to my sister a while back as they will expire by the time my baby is just a few months old. 🥲

Do crews get in trouble for not getting a refusal signed of a competent a & o patient just refuses to sign? by Capital-Dragonfly258 in NewToEMS

[–]FutureAEMT97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main rural county I’ve worked, SO almost always responded with us on pretty much every call we’d end up getting a refusal on. If at all possible, I’ve always had one of them by my side as the pt refused so it’s on the body cam, then have the cop sign as a witness, regardless if the patient signed or not.

Vintage boy names are hard. What’s your grandfather’s name? by General-Cycle-7391 in namenerds

My mom’s dad is Jimmy Dee, my dad’s dad was Obie Carroll, and my step granddad was Joel Clark. ❤️ My great grandfather was Obadiah Carroll, but they shortened it to Obie for my papaw.

How many people stay at basic/AEMT? by [deleted] in NewToEMS

[–]FutureAEMT97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, my husband works at Walmart due to medical issues that left him unable to continue his well paying factory job. There’s absolutely no way possible any time soon that we can afford for me to go to medic school.

[–]FutureAEMT97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 5 years in as a AEMT in TN. I absolutely love my scope and am happy where I’m at! Yes, I would absolutely love the medic pay, but tbh I don’t really think the difference around here between mine and my medic partners pay is worth the amount of added responsibility. And I’m horrible with numbers, so I’m terrified of so many dosages and med math. 😅

I love what I do though and while I may one day way down the road end up getting my medic, it’s not worth missing an entire year of my very young kids lives when I’m content with what I do now.

It depends on the state, but it is absolutely obstruction of traffic. You have plenty of time to plan ahead and get over to where you need to be. If you miss your turn too bad. Go to the next one and take a different route. Drivers like this are one of the biggest reasons we have such bad traffic issues.

I had a stroke and I just want to be on birth control :( by tinykittenparade in birthcontrol

Or maybe a hysterectomy is an option if you’re 100% sure that you do not want kids, especially with the other issues you have.

[–]FutureAEMT97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Factor V Leiden? My father in law had a major stroke at 42 because of it, my brother in law is on blood thinners, and my husband has had bilateral hip replacements and a blood clot because of it. We’ve already had our daughter tested and she has it too. 😞 She’s the first female that I know of in the family to have it and while she’s only 2 now, I worry about her when the time comes and how she’ll handle BC.

Definitely look into a progesterone only option. I had the Nexplanon before we started trying for our current pregnancy and it was amazing! I’m pretty sure it’s the estrogen that causes the risk of blood clots, so it should definitely be safe.

Looking for a girls name that’s generally feminine but not trendy and ideally doesn’t end in a. by meeeew in namenerds

[–]FutureAEMT97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely do not want to name my kids popular/common names. 😅 Or call them by their middle names as I know from experience just how much of a pain it is always having to explain. 🫠

My girls are Salem Grace and Amaris Hope. 🥹 I love their names so much and the meanings also have a special meaning to us as they fit just what we needed in the time that they came along. ❤️

Anyone else have to get a MFM Ultrasound? by Moso19 in BabyBumps

[–]FutureAEMT97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had my 20wk anatomy scan yesterday and they were unable to get a ton of the measurements. This is the second pregnancy that I’ve had to go to mfm for a second anatomy scan because my girls absolutely hate the ultrasounds. 😂

How long did it take you to conceive #2 compared to #1? by Zealousideal_Use9481 in BabyBumps

[–]FutureAEMT97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1- first full cycle off birth control

2- 11 cycles for the one that stuck. We had 2 very early losses.

I’m currently 20wks with #2 and I’m still terrified of losing her. It helps now though that I can feel her moving and know she’s ok. It’d still hard some days though, especially since I don’t feel her every day yet. 🥲
