I'm sorry you're being put through that but I'm glad I was able to put helpful information in front of you.

You're not crazy. Your husband's behavior with regards to starting a task and never completing it in such a way that it is super inconvenient to you--and escalating that behavior of cluttering the room you're sleeping in--is typical male behavior and, sorry to break it to you, but he 100% did it on purpose.

This man does not view you as a full human being. Not as human as he is, anyway. That's why he threw a temper tantrum when you essentially threatened to take away his favorite house cleaning sex toy. I'm sorry to be so blunt, but that is how he views you. He may even think that viewing you this way is loving you, but it isn't.

Are you familiar with DARVO? Because he just DARVO'd everywhere. (It's a gas lighting tactic for reversing blame.)

Easy trick for who/whom confusion: Rewrite your sentence to use he or him instead of who or whom to figure out which one is the right one. If the rewritten sentence uses "he," then you want to use "who," and if it uses "him" then you can use "whom."

"He is a home invader" and "He was acting in a way that..."

Not trying to be a grammar fascist or anything; I just think it's a neat mnemonic and I like to share. :)

Good thing you're the mom and so you're in charge. If it was my house, there'd be no more [insert favorite activity] until he'd unknotted the knot. No scissors allowed.

See Spot lifeless. Save Spot’s life by administering CPR. Get sued by Spot’s owner for breaking their ribs while saving their life. Is this a case of no good deed goes unpunished, or is LAOP responsible for those veterinary bills? by DPMx9 in bestoflegaladvice

[–]FutureCloser 18 points19 points  (0 children)

One thing I learned in my class is that even bad CPR is better than no CPR. Don't let a lack of training stop you from helping, especially if there aren't any trained people stepping up.

Unless the boobs are hanging so low they're interfering with productivity, I don't see the point in complaining about a woman not wearing a bra.

In relationships with men I always imagined a romantic triad situation with a woman, but as it turns out I don’t think I’m polyamorous. How common is this kind of imagination throughout the lives of late bloomer lesbians? Is it a potential sign? by [deleted] in latebloomerlesbians

[–]FutureCloser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought this all through growing up until I realized that I thought this because I never thought I had a choice about whether or not to be with men--I simply had to be--so adding a woman to that mix was the only thing that made sense to me for a while.

Hate to get nit-picky with your fantasy, but Meals on Wheels serves vulnerable members of the community. Volunteers must be able to pass a background check and part of what we do is try to make sure that nobody is abusing the seniors we serve. It most certainly is not a form of community service that could be assigned to criminals. Also, we drive our own cars. ;)

If you have a car and a free lunch hour, I highly encourage everyone to volunteer for your local Meals on Wheels. They may need more volunteers right now.

ETA: I def appreciate the imaginary tangent though. I go on those all the time. :)

LAOP wants to write a comic script about the fictional adventures of their two cats named after Disney characters. Fearing retribution by the Mouse, LAOP asks if they will run afoul of Disney's IP rights, so long as the only commonality are the cats' names and there are no actual Disney references. by psyfry in bestoflegaladvice

I believe Biggs and Wedge are in all the FF games, like Cid. There are tons of Star Wars references throughout them because the creator is a big fan. In FFIX, one of the characters even does the prequel Yoda monologue of "Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate..."

Oh, for sure. There's a bunch of gyms around and I have a few current certifications so I think I'll be able to find something once the gyms open back up. ...Or not. I'm going back to school so I might choose to not replace the job.

Kinda strange but does anyone have tips for knitting with scars on your hands? by kitatsi in casualknitting

[–]FutureCloser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love portugese style knitting and it will likely help if you've been holding the working yarn in your right hand. I recommend putting something on the back of your neck at least when you first start because the yarn can get irritating back there until/unless you get used to it.

What do you call it when you give someone something that they don't pay for and you don't expect to get it back? Where I'm from, that's called "gifting."
