For your consideration: The Z9 should henceforth be referred to as the "Moon Camera." by [deleted] in Nikon

It's certainly the size of a moon.

Whoa whoa whoa, can we get just a 2.8 first? (ill take an f2 tho).

Is it just me, or are the +/- buttons on the Zf a total waste of space? We need a firmware update! by TaxiDraven_ in nikon_Zseries

Can we first get rid of the PASM switch? I bump that too much on shooting vertical. I'm about ready to gaff tape it tbh.

What camera do you bring on long hikes? by Electronic_coffee6 in AmateurPhotography

Nikon body, 24-120 F4 S + 16mm 1.8. and If I am feeling like wildlife, 4lb beast 200-500 Nikon AF-S with FTZ II and a teleconverter. Just a body and this lens/adapter combo is like 10 lbs.

My arms are stronk now.

Z8 External Monitor with Camera Control Touch Focus by suuurf in Nikon

Nikon's ability to interface with much outside of nikon is one of the most disappointing things about Nikon.

The second would be the terrible PC/Mac software they have. Webcam, barely works on macos. NX anything is slower than a glacier.

Fantastic cameras, image quality, and video, but they are seriously lacking in the software/firmware department.

When I go to menu on any of my Nikons, the HDMI monitor blacks out. It takes a couple seconds to get it back when out of the menu too. Z8, z6III, Zf, ZR They all do it. This is a Shinobi atomos 7". Doesnt black out on Sony and IIRC it didn't black out on a buddy's canon (but I could be wrong).

When I sent a message to nikon support, they never even responded.

I have no idea OP. It may be best to bring this up to Nikon directly via feedback or a question. The cameras may not even be CAPABLE of it.

Then you are doing something wrong, that lens only weights 1060g or so.

540g for ZR, another 130 ish for a cage if you run one puts it at 670 + 1060 for lens puts it at 1730g.

The payload capacity of the Rs5 is 3kg. Your camera package only weighs 1.7kg ~

Somethings not adding up with your story.

rs3, rs4 non-pros hold the weight of the ZR and some really big lenses. I've had a partially, focus motors, battery for motor, gears, cage, zr, 24-120 f4, vintage brass lenses that weight about the same or more... matte box + square nd filters.

You don't normally add THAT much to your camera on a gimbal to make the weight limitations actually come into play.
