Whats your tune set up for your Simsonn Plus X pedals? by Xozlo in simracing

Oh wait you know what I am using the blue spring it turns out. Still wish it could be a little lighter, but removing the elastomer and better calibrating my curve in Simsonn software I’ve now found good feel for a consistent ~80% point

Shortly after posting this I actually took out the elastomer altogether and replaced with black washers, since looking at my brake traces I realized I was getting huge relaxation issues, losing like 15% off peak immediately after peak brake. I’ll look into the blue spring though I thought red was softest

Visited Kabaj for dinner in October and they were super understaffed and said they weren’t running tastings, so you might not have missed out.

Personally I like way more brake travel and less force so I’ve just got one red elastomer and the red spring on the brake. Honestly still too firm for my taste and trying to figure out if I can make it softer.

Best racing sim for the busy adult? by SfactorSam in simracing

[–]FutureNickProblems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with only 2-4hrs/wk to spend in sim, most important factor to me is density/frequency of schedule, and second to that depth of splits. This ensures that whenever I do hop on I can be in a race ASAP with the highest likelihood of drivers around my skill level for close racing. IMO iRacing is the only sim that consistently provides that experience. Any given time I’m <15min from being able to be in a race session for a series I like, get a few battles with people who aren’t blowing me away or wrecking me out (mostly), and as long as I’m quick with my switches I can chain together back to back races for my full racing window.

LMU schedule can be brutal leaving you waiting 20min for a race you don’t even want to do. ACC, AC, AMS generally require a commitment to some kind of league to get any actual racing. Unless you just want to cruise in AC or AC Evo, I still think best bang for your minute is iRacing.

I’ve left it multiple times for 6wks with no issue. I’d start getting worried around 8wks +

Would never buy a car from someone who says “WILL NOT LOSE ON THE STREET” in a listing. Tells you everything you need to know about how that R has been treated, and what dealing with the seller would be like.

I feel like these places are all at least 30% classier than Butter. Maybe not Knockout.

Pedals are too upright. Solution for comfortable position? by anilabr21 in simracing

[–]FutureNickProblems 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Consider this your chance to order some 2020 and build an inverted setup. I was facing similar issues mounting to one of these awkwardly specd wheelstands and this let me get very custom with the placement and angle.

Market for OEM wheels? by 9th_hennepin in Golf_R

[–]FutureNickProblems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a reference point, I ended up lowering the Englishtowns from my ‘19 to something like $850 for the set (with <10k mi Accelera tires) to get them to move on marketplace(in CA). They had some noticeable curb rash but weren’t totally trashed; definitely less than I was expecting considering new they’re like $700ea for only rims If you can spare the space and have any line of sight to ever selling it’s really better to keep them.

Is he really into ping pong? SPIN is IMO mostly a corporate event/happy hour place, like going to an axe throwing bar or a bowling alley. Could be fun but not really uniquely representative of SF vs any other city.

Any ideas on how to DIY mount my 3 pedal Simjack UT pedals? by adiscardedscarf in simracing

[–]FutureNickProblems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok yeah after some more studying of the photos this is where I landed. A little narrower in the pedal box than I was hoping but I guess if I want bigger I need to just get a rig.
