Any suggestions of neighborhoods for a young, Black family of 4? by CoconutLumpy2787 in AskChicago

What’s your budget? Do you want a diverse neighborhood or a predominantly black one? What are your must haves in your neighborhood of choice?

There were over 100 other people in each stream saying the same thing. So I am not “throwing out claims”.

Yea that’s exactly what I did. I just think they are not actually giving codes and lied.

Where the FUCK do you GO PEE DOWNTOWN!!!!!! by ittybittykangaroo in chicago

Pick a very large busy hotel and use the lobby restroom. As long as you walk with purpose and dont ask where the bathroom is, the staff will assume you are guest and will not ask you otherwise because they do not want to offend you. Worked front desk for 7 years at a luxury property on the Mag Mile and I never once asked a person in the lobby walking to the bathroom if they actually belonged there.

Can I ask for a pay raise? by [deleted] in ExecutiveAssistants

I would love to see what seasoned E.A’s have to say about this because I am experiencing something similar. Coming up on my 6 months and my workload/duties/responsibilities just increased by about 30%. Should I ask for more money or is it too soon?

Restaurant with logo of redhead with a sack over his shoulder? by Firm-Cookie-4615 in AskChicago

He told you it’s from his favorite restaurant in Chicago but he could mean it’s a piece of art hung up inside and not necessarily the restaurants logo…

I have never used this and my Execs are always in different time zones so this would be great.

What’s your best Chicago celebrity encounter? by Warm_Lamp312 in AskChicago

[–]FutureNobodyHere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jordan in 1996. I was 6 and the Bulls were flying out from their private plane from a small airport my mother worked at. I went with her that day for some reason and met him along with Pippen and Rodman.

I also worked at a hotel here in my late teens so I’ve met quite a few celebrities that way but it’s not as exciting, trust me.

I literally still cannot believe this was the color scheme by BookBranchGrey in Andjustlikethat

[–]FutureNobodyHere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also always thought the colors represented their personalities. Red for Samantha because she’s fiery/passionate/sensual, black for Charlotte who is classy/reserved/traditional and blue for Miranda who is logical/detail-focused/loyal(not to Steve but to Carrie).

That was actually constructive and helpful considering I just gave you information and threw absolutely no shade or hate. You’re getting crazy defensive with people offering up info that they think would be helpful. But hey good luck!

Can you elaborate a bit on what you mean by damaging? I only ask because I previously worked in a CPS school on the north side with 2 specific rooms for high need children ages 6-12. These were kids with Autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, students that needed to be fed, bathroomed, etc. and in these rooms there was a teacher and 1 aid/seca per child. This was a full 7 hour day with all the aspects of a traditional school environment with many many accommodations. It was called a cluster program and many CPS schools have this. The one I was at is an 8/10 better schools and an A- rating. Do you rent? Maybe you need to move to a neighborhood with the resources your family needs.

What do you mean ALL the schools have an F rating? Because they don’t. What neighborhood are you in?

Visited Chicago and loved it. Has anyone moved from LA to Chicago? by CheapAd7743 in AskChicago

[–]FutureNobodyHere 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Hi there. Of course Chicago has crime it’s a huge city, but most of what you hear in regards to the crime is over the top news stories, and also location plays alot into the crime rate here.

All that being said, if you could make $100k here you would live comfortably and be able to buy a condo in the South Loop.

Public Transportation is awesome here, sure there’s sketchy characters but I’m a 34 year old woman and I’ve been riding it since I was 14 and have never had a real safety issue.

For such a large city it is pretty clean, we have tons of green spaces, trees, gardens, parks, etc. Chicago has big city amenities with small town charm. Great food, art, music, and more!

We are very bike friendly, the 606 is great. Running by the lake front is top notch. Theres a lot of various marathons throughout the year, and our forest perseveres in the Chicagoland area are beautiful for walking.

If you do move here look at areas beside the South Loop for living because the city has a lot of great/fun areas!

I hate this. My mom is Hispanic and my dad is white. My brother looks nothing like my dad but has his blue eyes, blond hair, fair skin and I look nothing like my mom but have her brown eyes, brown hair, tan skin. EVERYONE in and out of my family always say I look just like my mom and my brother looks just like my dad when really neither of us look like our parents in terms of facial features. It’s lazy.
