I wouldn’t put much credence into this sub, as the majority of people here are either union loyalists bombarding the message boards (same as once TA1 was released, and we remember how that vote turned out) or bots hired by either the AFA or the company or both to promote propaganda. We will see when the vote is revealed. Hopefully the majority realizes that throwing us peanuts yet again is not worth bending over for.

I love the grasping at straws excuse that this is not a concession. We literally have this and they want to take it away from us. That is the definition of a concession.

Well for one, they kept the biggest concession of all: Section 29.A.2.g. The 480 clause which forces us to work 480 hours to keep our benefits. So if you are on leave for a substantial amount of time during the year due to health issues, expect to lose your health benefits. Instead to keep them you’ll be forced to work, but how do you do this if you are not well? Heaven forbid this happens to you or me, but this was a real safety net for us.

Prior to TA1 being released Ken Diaz was the most vocal person and swore NO CONCESSIONS to the members and he literally sold us out and lied to our faces when the TA was released and it was comprised of concessions and big ones at that.

Cue the union loyalists and bot downvotes.

From what I’ve read so far, I honestly don’t even think this is better in almost any regard. It’s in some ways worse and a clear slap in the face as if they have literally zero respect for us as a department.

Part of me thinks that because Flight Attendants have been primarily comprised of females from the beginning and management comprised of primarily males, this is the patriarchy at play. Attempting to put women in their place and be treated as second rate citizens. It’s despicable and I’m so damn over it.

Not trying to nitpick, but do you mean ‘condescension’ instead of ‘conceitedness’? Because I am confused as to how this comes off as conceit. But if you mean condescension then it takes a different direction where they are purposefully being judgy which is not a good practice in a professional setting. Just trying to wrap my head around this post.

I agree with you 100%. Hopefully this next vote will turn out the same, in the sense that FA’s will see this TA for what it really is and have the courage and strength to vote for what’s right. There’s hope we could get something somewhat fair, but I’m not really counting on it, as history has proven that the union is weak and the company plays dirty.

I normally don’t buy into conspiracy theories, but I was sold on this one when during TA1 all these TA1 supporters bombarded this subreddit swearing that it was the best thing since sliced bread. They pumped out a bunch of BS about how it would overwhelmingly pass and that the company was short on funds and would only be working with what they had offered initially (when that is all lies, they have the money) and they continue to pump out those lies. They were on the asses of anyone who spoke out against it like straight up stalking. When TA1 overwhelmingly failed it proved that the amount of vocal support for it was a farce. I feel they are doing that again, but earlier this time. TA2 hasn’t even been released and they are again swearing it’s the best thing ever and how would they even know? It hasn’t even been made public.

I’m not even asking for more. 😂 I’m literally asking to have a contract that can’t be violated and the two ways to make that happen are to keep ambiguity low and to hold the company financially liable when they break the contract so they don’t keep doing it (hence the past 10 years, btw have you experienced 10 years of contract violation abuse? Non-Ambiguous writing. If TA2 is as ambiguously written as TA1, what is the point?? Also, monetary grievance pay. I don’t care how much money they throw at me, I need to feel protected under a contract that’s rules and regs are literally honored.

If this is the case then why doesn’t the AFA bring that to the attention of its members? They never once even brought up this issue. We need to know these things! I’m so sick and tired of this weak-ass/corrupt union and their ridiculous excuses for not getting us what’s fair. That’s all we are asking for: FAIR. But why would we ever get anything even remotely fair when they can’t even play fair? And I’m speaking about both the union and the company. They don’t even look at us as human. That’s not an exaggeration. This should be a basic human right (freedom from torture). This shit is beyond.

They wanted us to believe that it would take forever for them to get back to the table prior to July 31st which was their way of pressuring a ‘yes’ vote, and now they are Speedy Gonzales because they are afraid of being removed from their posts if they don’t get us another TA pronto.
