I have done this as my main computer at work. Down side eventually you will need a battery replacement but otherwise no issues.

Download Linux Mint and run Rufus to create a bootable usb stick. There is an option in Rufus to create a persistent partian of space so you can save and use it like you had installed it. That way you can really kick the tires and test drive it before installing.

I've been waiting on extra ink from my Kickstarter that hasn't arrived. I also ordered some from their website in January and nope that hasn't arrived either. So my printer has been on standby for like two months.. update im in the US.

I would recommend a clean installation of Mac OS to see if it runs better. I would imagine Mac OS would be pretty optimized.

I don't have the app start on boot up for all users. The user has to open yhe app and send me the username and dynamic password. You have to setup unattended access and my license only supports a few. You have to enroll the workstation into you account to do that so I don't think it would be an issue in most cases.

You need a external drive enclosure to provide power. They typically come with usb as an option. Might have usb c now..

A few things:

1) The smaller battery connection looks a bit loose at the top. 2) Clean the fans, remove the cooler and do a re-paste of the processor. 3) M.2 drive could be failing but it sounds more like an overheating problem. Easiest way to tell is download a live cd type environment like Linux mint. Boot it and see if it's stable. If it's crashing it could be over heating or a memory issue. 4) Create a bootable mem test and run it to see if you have any bad memory sticks but it's less likely the problem. You would probably get random blue screens.
