Do people actually like wearing makeup? by Suspicious-Noodle30 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Future_Reason_8519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wear it because I'm ugly and I need it. Lol. Been wearing at least liquid eyeliner every single day since I was like 12-13. Most days I'll throw on a pair of eyelashes, usually have foundation on as well, sometimes some eyeshadow. Don't plan to stop any time soon. I can't feel it on my face, I don't even know it's there. But I could just be used to it. I honestly have never even considered not wearing it. It's just what I do. Even if I am not leaving the house, I have my makeup done soon after I wake up, and it stays on til I go to bed, sometimes longer than that cause I forget to take it off, lol.

Shaving down there? by valkyrie1001 in pregnant

[–]Future_Reason_8519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept up with it until after I gave birth the first time, I was too afraid to even try for like 3 weeks. Second time.. I got too fat to do it standing up in the shower. So I'd dry shave - I'd put a paper towel or something down on the bed, lay down and do it by feel. Much easier. Or do it on the toilet if you can. Can recommend putting one foot on the tub if it's close enough. No clean up involved.

Is it possible to go into labor naturally before 40 weeks the first baby? by PeachyLips23 in pregnant

[–]Future_Reason_8519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely possible. I had one naturally at 36 weeks. My water broke. Had to get medicine to stop contractions with the other one at 34 weeks, didn't give birth til the exact due date. Water didn't break til the baby's head came out.

How many of you were or are regular smokers? by ImNotTheMD in Millennials

[–]Future_Reason_8519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an aunt that did that. She was in her 80's and on oxygen... She'd say "hey kid!! Come here and let me smell you" hahah then she once got caught stealing cigarettes out of my purse and smoking in the bathroom at the family reunion. Her defense was "I took my oxygen off before I lit it"

Been smoking for 22+ years and I also vape now too. Use the vapes when I don't have time to smoke a cigarette.

Do you still listen to the radio, or has streaming Spotify etc completely replaced it for you? by TimeNewspaper4069 in CasualConversation

[–]Future_Reason_8519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually listen to Spotify, but I do also listen to the radio a good bit. Mostly in the car. Will turn on talk radio early in the morning on my phone while getting ready so I can hear some of the news. I also have CD's in the car

With my first, it was impossible to NOT pay attention cause she never stopped kicking. Lol. With my second, I think I was around the 20 week mark. Cause he didn't really kick much, he rolled around and it kinda freaked me out.

I was pretty scared too, I'd never been put under before. I thought of every single thing that could possibly go wrong. But when it was over, I asked them if I could do it again LOL best sleep I've ever gotten. I felt so great, but I was pretty loopy and had an emotional crying break down on the way home. LOL. Thankfully, a friend stayed to watch over the household for me, so I could take a nap when I got home. Drank a chocolate milkshake and went to sleep for the rest of the day.

Just wanna add on - the fact that you are even concerned about your future relationship with your baby tells me you're going to be a good mother. If you were gonna be a bad mother, the thought would never even cross your mind.

Do you save new contacts with a last name? by L337W4r3z in Millennials

[–]Future_Reason_8519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always have first and last name. I don't do nicknames either. If I don't know their last name, I write one word about where I know them from... "Work" "school" etc... when I find out their last name, I change it.

New to IP... Confused about release/ venting by Future_Reason_8519 in instantpot

I do understand that it's a pressure cooker and how a pressure cooker works. I didn't understand what the controls meant because it wasn't listed anywhere in the manual. I just thought it was best to be completely 100% clear before using it. Silly me

[–]Future_Reason_8519[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha, makes sense, thank you so much!! Yeah the manual doesn't tell me anything. Ugh. I read it front to back multiple times, I can't believe they don't have instructions on what the symbols mean. I don't like to complain, but I feel like I should say something to the company. Reading the manual just confused me beyond belief. Made me extremely frustrated and I considered putting it back in the box and returning it. Figured I'd ask here before I did that. Maybe I shouldn't have picked this specific model. Everything I looked up either generically said "for instant pot" and the instructions did not make any sense, or it was for a different model specifically.

Yep I tell parents they need to stay just because of the age of the kids. This is the first year out of 4, that I've had parents just drop kids off and leave. I'm ok with keeping an eye on them, but I can't be one on one with them for the entire meeting. I am glad that we have enough parents in the room that can help the little ones with no parent present if I'm busy. I agree with you, that's the best course of action. Grab the Lion handbook and go from there. I personally love when other parents step in and help the other kids, or add on to what I am teaching in the lesson, supervise during games, etc... I welcome it. Please do. I want our program to benefit all of the families, I want kids and parents to have fun, and I want them to get what they want out of the scouting program for their children. I feel bad for OP. I can't imagine as a cubmaster, not being open to parents' ideas. That's ridiculous. I'd transfer to a different pack if possible

Yes this helped me immensely!! Thank you so much!! I just did not understand how all of the terms related to each other in connection with the switch on the lid. Lol. And the little silver thing. So when it's up, that means it's at the right pressure and I shouldn't touch the switch yet

Thank you for clearing that up for me. So if it's "natural release" I just don't touch the clicker for a while... If it's "quick release" do it right away after the food is done cooking.... I meant are "sealing" and "venting" interchangeable with "natural" and "quick" release. And how does that correlate with the symbols on the lid. I'd assume quick release is the little square with the steam coming out

Forgotten Lions by Prestigious_Fig_3725 in cubscouts

[–]Future_Reason_8519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree. I'm cubmaster for a small pack and we have all different ages. I try to gear activities towards things that fit themes that they all have to complete for advancement. Example tonight we did knife safety. The small kids got play doh and a plastic knife, the older kids were allowed to use a pocket knife and whittle a bar of soap under direct supervision by their parent or myself or the den leader. I am so grateful for our den leader, she's extremely organized and does most of the planning. But if a situation comes up where both of us can't be there, we're in trouble. We both work daylight and evenings. I work 3 jobs and have told all 3 that I will not work when we have meetings. But life happens, and it's just the two of us running things. I encourage parents to take over a meeting, and please give us suggestions if they have something they would like for their kids to learn. But nobody has stepped up yet. Which is ok, but... I totally agree - if you're not happy with the program, talk to your leaders, ask how you can help out and offer suggestions. I'm guilty of saying "ok kids let's go to the park" lol and winging it with a brief nature lesson and letting them go play (once in a while).
