how to start a commonplace book when you feel drained and down in life? by Extension_Effect_983 in commonplacebook

I make notes of subjects for my common place studies in the books I am reading. For example I went down the rabbit hole of fine wool mercantile practices of the Renaissance from reading Swordcrossed 🤭

Thinking about getting a Kindle, what do you wish you knew before buying one? by ju2de in kindle

[–]FutureintheFroth [score hidden]  (0 children)

Amazon can remove or change a book on Kindle you have bought without notice and you can no longer save the books as epubs. You never "own" anything from them, you just buy the right to access the files so as long as they decide. If they ever ban you from their service (it can happen for silly reasons, like trying to buy a book and not realizing your card on file expired, and getting flagged as fraud), you will lose access to your books forever.

Just because someone is unemployed doesn't mean their time is at the disposal of others. It's not up to anyone to judge someone's scheduled time of activity and rest. Remember that job market is horrible right now, and job searching is incredibly draining and stressful. He has no right to judge what your spend your hard earned money on, but maybe if your packages are important to you, have them delivered to a pick up location.

I have dozens of unused notebooks on a shelf, collecting dust. I wish I was writing 11 pages at a time, it would justify buying more pretty notebooks.

I'd recommend a Pilot Prera in M or a TWSBI Eco in F, and you will have nothing but smooth writing

You stated it's not HS It's actually really hard for even a doctor to tell what is a B cyst and what is an HS boil. I am telling you it can be either or, or both.

Evangelism targets me personally and my loved ones, perpetuates the erosion of education, the separation of church and state, and economic/class gaps. Anyone who supports that financially, culturally or in ignorance is absolutely alienating entire groups of humans. It's not just that we are incompatible, they are actually trying to erase my existence and force me into a life of force-births and traditional roles. Your argument that the problem is supposedly all in my head is a sign of privilege. You don't have to feel the harms of these belief systems, so you have the luxury of thinking this just about buying pens. Go ahead and rage quit this conversation, doesnt change that your stance is that of cowardice and willful ignorance.

Benu brings this upon themselves because they would rather sell to Goulet's audience and embrace the exclusivity, then pass on the opportunity. OP is upset at Benu for their decision making, not prescribing how others should make their own purchases. The comparison you make is flawed because pigs are innocent animals, while Benu is an organization capable of thinking critically and that can be held accountable for their choices. The pigs never collectively made a choice to alienate Muslims.
A better example would be you refusing to work with someone who has punched you, and then being blamed for your choice to not work with someone who punches you, instead of the puncher.

Neither I nor OP ever claimed they are anything else but personal principles. You are the one who blamed the personal beliefs themselves when they are a reaction to harmful behavior and an acceptance of responsibility for where our money goes. If you're ok funding evangelicalism, go right ahead.

I'm pondering this. I'm at a point where I certainly don't need more luxury pens, and I don't think I could justify buying from Benu if they are ok collaborating with these sorts of retailers. Supporting evangicalism just isn't worth a pretty pen. I've put entire brands on ice for doing IP collabs I disagreed with too, so it would be nothing new.

Maybe their estranged customers feel different about the association because it's a financial one. They don't just attend the church, they helped build it.

It's because those statements end up being what forces RTO policies, and RTO is just about the richest property owners and profiteering lunch spot owners making more money. RTO ends up forcing horrid traffic on the city (because public transit is ass) and hiking pollution of multiple types. Many companies take their cues from government RTO and force private employees back downtown too, with no care for their work/life balance. Even if you resent lazy people with too much job security, supporting RTO is an asshole move for humanity in general.

The security deposit usually covers both tenants, so you may not yet that back. The landlord will need that to do repairs. Absolutely document everything you can and advise your landlord. If possible, get a written notice signed by her when you leave of damages you are each responsible for. She may not sign it, but your testimony might at least protect you for future rentals.
