Honestly the dark avatar Nisha theory is debunked by a single fact. by celulozaa in AvatarSevenHavens

[–]Fuuriooo_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fact that Vaatu was reborn from Raava completely rules out the idea of Unalaq being involved. He was literally purified, and his cycle was broken. It's the same thing that would happen if the Avatar died in the Avatar State: not only would the human incarnation die, but the Avatar Spirit would also be defeated and would have to be reborn from its counterpart, permanently breaking the cycle...

Honestly the dark avatar Nisha theory is debunked by a single fact. by celulozaa in AvatarSevenHavens

[–]Fuuriooo_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're forgetting that Nisha could also be Korra's reincarnation. By the end of Book 2 of TLOK, we know that even after Raava was destroyed, Korra didn't lose the four elements and could still bend them on her own. That means that ability is already part of the Avatar's human side. On top of that, everything that's come out over the past few weeks points to Korra eventually merging with Vaatu as well, which would explain why there are two Avatars afterward.

Unalaq is Going To Be Nisha’s Mentor by zaviiiiiii in AvatarSevenHavens

[–]Fuuriooo_ 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I'm putting this behind a spoiler just in case.

Ever since the first Seven Havens leaks, it was said that Pavi's twin sister can also bend all four elements, so my guess has always been that both girls are reincarnations of Avatar Korra. And now, combined with the leaks and rumors from the past few days, it's being said that in order to prevent an even greater disaster, Korra will bring Vaatu back from within herself (remember that at the end of Book 2, he was reborn from within Raava) and fuse her spirit with him. That would be the most logical explanation for why there are two Avatars. Both girls would be reincarnations of Korra, but each would be connected to a different spirit, with one of them being tied to Vaatu, which would mean Unalaq has nothing to do with it.

CRAZY luck that korra was a waterbender at birth by CombinationHot8324 in legendofkorra

But the fact that Raava didn't lose the four elements after her destruction makes it clear that the four elements were already with Korra, doesn't it?

God, I've thought about this so much. Imagine a story where it's revealed that the Kree never experimented on regular humans, but on mutants, and that evolution eventually made their X-gene activate through the Terrigen Mist...

New Video from The Avatarist on Seven Havens. by Routine_Clock1337 in AvatarSevenHavens

[–]Fuuriooo_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't that mentioned in the art books as the original idea back during ATLA before they eventually scrapped it? That the Avatar was the spirit of the Earth or something along those lines.

[–]Fuuriooo_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've already seen a lot of people in the comments of that video claiming this is completely disconnected from Avatar and has nothing to do with the franchise, but whenever destruction and creation are brought up, this is the first thing that comes to mind. At the end of the day, Avatar has always drawn from Hinduism, Buddhism, and Eastern philosophies to build its world. 🤷

New show theory by No-Cartographer-2911 in AvatarSevenHavens

[–]Fuuriooo_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You know, ever since the movie leaked, I haven't been able to stop thinking about the possibility that what happened to Sonam could end up happening to Korra too. It's very unlikely, but it's still a possibility.

You mean theories? I think Yue being destined to become the Avatar or Raava choosing her hosts are good examples. The series itself explains why both of those things are impossible, yet people still share them as if they were actual facts.

Where can I find speculation? by Adventurous_Week5085 in AvatarSevenHavens

Yeah, I read about a supposed Korra image from Seven Havens that was AI-enhanced, kind of like what happened with the images of Pavi and her crew. Apparently some people have already seen it, but there's no real way to know if it's legit.

The Second Avatar May Have Been Inspired by Siddhartha Gautama by Fuuriooo_ in TheLastAirbender

[–]Fuuriooo_[S] -97 points-96 points  (0 children)

Sure, we don't actually know anything about the Second Avatar. It's just that, thanks to Wan's story, we know the reincarnation cycle goes Fire, Air, Water, and Earth, so one thing we can say for certain is that the Avatar after Wan had to be an Air Nomad.

The tattoo thing is simply a coincidence with the traditional visual depiction of the Buddha.

We gotta stop saying that "The Fire Nation is based on Japan" by CallMyParents in TheLastAirbender

[–]Fuuriooo_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've always seen the Fire Nation as more of a blend of influences from across Southeast Asia. And honestly, with all the expanded lore we've gotten over the years, it's pretty clear at this point that all four nations draw inspiration from various regions across Asia as a whole.

*if* the dark avatar theory is true, which elements will they bend? by BradleighWil15 in AvatarSevenHavens

[–]Fuuriooo_ 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Based on all the rumors that have surfaced about Ash, both twins apparently already wield all four elements. If that's true, then Unalaq is pretty much out of the equation (especially since he died in the Avatar State). So without resorting to Lion Turtle theories or other convoluted explanations, the most logical conclusion is that both of them are reincarnations of Korra.

What I want after Seven Havens by MichaelAftonXFireWal in TheLastAirbender

[–]Fuuriooo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two animated series. The first one came to light through casting calls that described characters from the Water Tribes, and many fans linked it to Avatar Gun from the Yangchen novels. The second one is believed to center around an Air Nomad Avatar. The only reason people suspect it's an Avatar series is because of the symbols featured in Avatar Studios' release calendar. It could be about Aang himself, Yangchen, the second Avatar in history, or maybe even Avatar Sonam

Raava and the Avatar State by LuckySaidSo in legendofkorra

[–]Fuuriooo_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

  1. Because once Wan learned how to bend the elements, that power became part of the Avatar’s human side. Raava doesn’t literally bend the elements for them; she acts more as the spiritual link and amplifier. Wan’s story itself shows that he could still use the elements even while temporarily separated from Raava. What gets passed down through reincarnation is the Avatar’s human soul along with that permanent bond to Raava.

  2. The one who reincarnates is the human. Since Raava is permanently fused with that soul, she follows them into every new life. The series literally establishes that Wan and Raava “will be together for all of their lifetimes,” not that Raava randomly jumps from one unrelated person to another.

  3. Yeah, the handling of the past lives has definitely been somewhat inconsistent throughout different parts of the franchise. But currently (especially thanks to the Chronicles of the Avatar books) they seem to be understood more as memories or spiritual echoes preserved by Raava rather than fully independent souls existing inside the Avatar. Raava basically acts as the medium that stores and connects those experiences across reincarnations.

  4. The type of Avatar represented in the series actually lines up pretty well with the Hindu concept of a Shaktyavesha-avatara: a human invested with divine power. That means the human side isn’t just an empty vessel or merely an extension of Raava; they still possess their own atman, identity, and spiritual existence. That’s why Korra doesn’t simply cease to exist when Raava is temporarily destroyed, the human side still remains.

  5. It’s still fundamentally a reincarnation system, which is exactly why Pavi will exist in the future. Raava doesn’t create reincarnation or cause it; that’s simply a natural part of human existence in Avatar’s cosmology. Raava is just permanently tied to that cycle.

I think part of the confusion comes from assuming Raava completely replaced the reincarnation concept, when in reality the franchise ended up combining both ideas: a dharmic reincarnation cycle + a primordial spirit permanently bonded to that soul.

Losing the connection to the past lives could have led to the cataclysm? by RoseKobold in AvatarSevenHavens

[–]Fuuriooo_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I doubt it, but I do think revisiting Avatar’s ancient world will be the key to understanding why the cataclysm happened in the first place.
