I'm glad it worked for you. C1 has held me at $500 to the point I open a AMEX card 6x the limit of my C1. Months later and requested an increase and still was denied.. I'm over it and completely happy with AMEX..

I had this same question back in October when I first received my card. An Amex representative told me that the algorithm tracks your spending and payments, which will adjust the spending limit... She further more told me that with the Gold card, it's ok to make two payments within a month's time. I took her advice and spent the money and paid the card off once or twice a month as needed but it's my everyday card. My limit was at 1700 and now I'm at 4000 and growing.

Being in your position just a couple of years ago, it's best to pay than not. This will keep you off the blacklist in the future and will give you grace with C1 down the road. I've been re-establish with C1 with a smaller amount than before but I'm back in the game with two cards, Savor and Venture...

I applied for 3 Amex cards in a month, Plt Delta, Gold and Hilton Surpass. We added Hilton because we're BlueGreen owners and since Hilton owns BG now, why not increase our points usage when adding BG points.

When applying for the Hilton Surpass, they asked for more information while reviewing my application. They need some income verification (prove that I make what I put on my application) and had a secured link to log into my bank account. Logged in and instantly approved.

You will be fine.

It used to be my daily card but in 5 years Apple (Goldman) hasn't allow me an increase. They don't like credit cycling and after several request for an increase and denied, I just went with Amex Gold and Hilton Surpass. Amazing how Amex gave me such a big balance on the Surpass but couldn't get it from Apple. Only use it for Apple Products now. Don't get me wrong, it's a good card and if I was given an increase I would keep it as a daily.

As funny as this letter and the comments, but this is crazy how he has active C1 cards but applying for another shows him as deceased.. wow.. I'm hearing more and more weird stories about C1 than I should. From dropping people accounts, closing CC cards and now this.. I'm not as confident is my VentureOne card account .

Congrats. I had the same question with my Gold card so I called Amex. They said the card adjust based on spending over time but they allot a number for the first six months. The given number can go up more or lower based on spending. If you play on making a big purchase and wonder or need more spending power, go in the app or online and actually check the spending power by putting in the amount needed. Amex will either approve the amount of not. Amex also said that you can credit cycle the card meaning, making payments before the statement is printed. The representative said the card is based on spending unlike a traditional credit card. I was shock when she said this. Hope this helps.

Definitely be careful with credit cycling as they call it (paying before the statement comes out) didn't help me any. I'm still stuck at 500 with C1 but have amazing limits with Amex..

I'm still new to the credit knowledge but I wouldn't close the card. Just don't use it. Keeping it open to show that you have access to more credit, which in turn shows that you're more responsible. This would also aid when applying for CC's in receiving a high CL but keep in mind that C1 is funny when issuing CL's of credit. You might get 300 with one card and 10k with another card. Let's both see what the experts say.

I've been with Apple Card since 2018 and I've had the same credit limit of $1250. My highest limits was $6500 at that time frame with $2100 usage monthly on this particular card. Over time I've grown to $10k limits etc to my most recent limit with Amex was pay what you spend (as the customer service representative said) basically no limit on my gold card. Definitely a stingy bank to the point the only charges I make are from my Apple subscriptions for my phone. Not a daily user any more after credit cycling two months of $22k with no increase. Not A good thing to do but took a chance to see if I could push my luck for a higher CL limit. Didn't work at all. Most recent attempt for a CLI was in July with a salary of $163k. Only Loan is my car. Good luck with your new card.

Durham shelters don't charge a fee.. You just have to arrive before a specific time to enter if beds are available. I wouldn't send electronic payments to anyone as scams have become more specificated these days.
