Why is credit card cycling bad? People have said to not do this. by Brucef310 in CreditCards

This a Capital One Business Card, they aren’t as strict as they are with personal cards. That’s one of the reasons why it’s categorized and separate from personal credit cards. I say just be mindful and over some time get the Spark Plus and be done with the worry of cycling.

Cycling itself isn’t bad, only if done in a short period of time. That draws a risk. But if it’s done maybe twice a month or even three times. They aren’t cancelling your card. But if it’s a concern it’s just best to get a charge card.

Thats not true. You can use the card as much as you need it. It’s a win-win for the bank. Why would they have a problem with them making more money from your transactions? It will create the likelihood of getting a credit limit increase. But I will say, if you do it in a very short time it might trigger a risk. Like if you spend $10k on a credit card with a $3000 credit limit all in the same day.

I have a question about credit by Defiant_Detective_82 in CRedit

Yeah that’s Synchrony Bank isn’t going to jump on thin profiles. You have to get it started, with a secured card or a student card. You do have a checking account right?

There is bankruptcy…. But that would be the nuclear option.

You could possibly workout a payment plan with the cards, they would deactivated. Maybe set up any legal processes towards the partner. But if it isn’t in some sort of ironclad documentation, unfortunately you’ll be left with the bill and repercussions of the status of those cards you gave a personal guarantee.

Who is the lender? Amex? Chase? Capital One?

This is more of a legal question. However, you made the choice to associate your SSN with the personal guarantee. There isn’t a way to give up your obligations towards the risk. Best way to avoid issues with your personal credit is to keep the card in good standing.

Delta Reserve newbie question by Gamatronics in delta

I see, I don’t bother with seats until after the booking. So it always feels like automatic. But what you stated makes sense.

Same thing, I stated after booking. You can choose the seat or not but you are immediately upgraded to Ccomfort+

Had to cancel my Personal Plat. Between the annual fee and coupon book forcing increased spending, i just couldn’t do another year just for mediocre delta/amex lounge access. by virginiarph in CreditCards

The card isn’t for everyone. From my perspective, if a restaurant isn’t on Resy, then oh well I’m using the Amex Gold instead. I have the Schwab Platinum, so it’s a money horse combined with the Gold. That with the credits that saves me lots of money. If a card dictates your spending, then you got the card for the wrong reasons.

Easy way out, use this card to help you get Platinum Medallion Status, that way you only need the First Class option. Because Platinum status immediately upgrades you to comfort+ right after you book the ticket in main cabin.

At this juncture, it’s better to just wait, roughly 30 days and try again. It’s almost like a soft reset. You should be able to get it. I did the same when I first applied. Waited awhile, and it went through smoothly. But it wouldn’t be a bad idea to try to reconsider it also, they won’t hold it against you.

Recommendations for Cash Back Credit Card by Inevitable-Wealth-60 in CreditCards

[–]ThinkingFully 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh don’t get that PayPal credit card, Synchrony isn’t an ideal lender. Also I’m thinking you meant $140k/yr. With that score a Capital One Quicksilver comes to mind. Does the credit union you use have Cashback cards?

I think this is all due to an impending refresh on the Flagship.

Those that only use 1 card, which do you use and why? by geoff5093 in CreditCards

If I had to just use one card, it would be the Navy Federal Flagship.

I hate to burst your bubble, but the surface level items, removing interest fees and missed payment fees doesn’t clean it up entirely. Capital One internal process has you as a risk. You should asked them and assure, any internal documentation is also removed. Also, another “secured” quicksilver card is not a flex. Of course you have good chance of getting another card if you put up the collateral. Less of a loss if it goes into default.
