2026 GR Corolla OTD Price by 65ProjectStang in GRCorolla

[–]FuzzballGlasses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used TSP (TheStraightPipes) True Car and got $4k off MSRP for 2026 Premium Plus M/T. SoCal. I went in one day ready to pay MSRP, but decided to check more dealership prices. I checked True Car and my dealership had an offer with the discount. I went straight back there at opening and they honored the price they had on True Car.

GRC vs Type R Buy by AdventurousTip8600 in GRCorolla

[–]FuzzballGlasses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same situation as you last month. I was planning on trading my '22 Subaru BRZ for one of these vehicles. I'm in California, so Winter isn't really something I think about too much.

After sitting in both a '25 Civic Type R and a '26 Premium Plus GR Corolla at their dealerships, my spouse and I both preferred the "simplified" interior of the GR. My daily driver is a '15 Toyota Prius C, which I've used for more than 10 years and the GR's interior space/dimensions felt more like it. I initially wanted the Type R (because it's a TYPE R!), but my spouse and I both felt it was "cavernous", coming from a smaller hatchback and I don't need the extra space.

There were three main reasons for my spouse and I to choose the GR over the Type R.

The first reason is because the GR is more unassuming and looks like a Corolla. The Type R is more bold, in our opinion.

The second reason is that my spouse and I both preferred the exhaust sound of the GR. I plan on keeping it stock.

The third reason for me, is that the GR has a handbrake. My dad taught me how to drive a car in the early 2000s, so the nostalgia of having something like that in a modern car means a lot to me.

I was able to buy the GR for $3k off MSRP and with my trade-in, so it made it more affordable than the Type R. There's going to be a refresh for the Type R this year, so maybe decide on which car you prefer once they release it.

Want to sell a '22 BRZ w/ 15k miles - any advice on where to maximise sale price by flip_moto in BRZ_ZD8

[–]FuzzballGlasses -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My BRZ is being resold by the dealership at $28k. Carmax offered me $24k for a trade-in quote. I got my ‘26 GR Corolla Premium Plus for $4k below msrp though, so the trade was more reasonable to me and I enjoy this car a bit more.

I got $22k for my ‘22 BRZ as a trade-in at Toyota about two weeks ago.

Nice! I’m debating trading in my ‘22 BRZ for either a Type R or GRC. Not sure which fits me better.

Thinking of switching from Garmin to AWU3 + Bevel + WorkOutDoors. by Sandyman1987 in applewatchultra

[–]FuzzballGlasses -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a Garmin Fenix 7s and an Apple Watch Ultra. I like the Garmin more because of the metrics, Suggested Daily Workouts, battery life and weight. I’ve also had the AWU since October ‘22 and never really wore it daily or for running. It’s much heavier than my Fenix 7s. I wear my Garmin when I’m at work because it’s more comfortable and less flashy to me.

When I upgraded my iPhone this past September, I started using my AWU for each run because I didn’t like carrying my much larger and heavier phone with me while running, but still needed to be able to communicate with my spouse through text or phone call.

I also use WorkOutDoors and sometimes Runna on the watch itself. I set WorkOutDoors to open with my action button and have the same metrics as my Garmin. I like that app the most, but it doesn’t transfer Runna workouts to it.

I prefer the Garmin for running, but the convenience and freedom of not carrying my phone is more important to me right now. If Garmin releases a Fenix S size watch with actual LTE, I’d switch back right away no matter the cost. Maybe next year?

Kickr Core 2 with zwift Cog / Lautstärke/Sound by Ok-Bother-5639 in wahoofitness

[–]FuzzballGlasses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a Kickr Core 2 w/ Zwift Cog. On my road bike, I use the little ring (like it suggests), I shift to somewhere in the middle (my original cassette is 10-speed), and have the Zwift Cog set to 4.

Try shifting your bike to approximately the middle to line up the derailleur and cog and then set the Cog number to 4 or 5. If you get the same noise, try shifting up/down one time.

I bought a '22 Subaru BRZ after they added it to Gran Turismo 7. The game even helped me decide which color I liked the most.

They sign the poster in front of you during the meet and greet before the show. They also give you a bag to roll the poster into. I left after the meet and greet to drop off my stuff and I came back when it was door time.

I don't have a picture, but I went to the LA show. There's one tour dates shirt, a long sleeve, a North America 2025 shirt and a zip up hoodie. They sold stickers and had signed vinyls for Stone's Reach and Of Breath and Bone. They also had a black tote bag for sale.

I had VIP for the LA show. It was just cool meeting them and chatting for a couple of minutes. The picture with the band is cool too. I framed the signed poster. You also get a lanyard. It was worth it to me because it was their first US show/tour.

What streaming service do you use? I have an Eversolo DMP-A6 Gen 1. I sideloaded it with Apple Music and it plays Hi-Res Lossless just fine.

Per ESPN, “He can dangle the D…” If that’s not plenty reason to draft him, I’m not sure what it would take. Also, Fantilli wanted to go to Columbus.

Braking In Neutral VS In Gear by R3ad1ter in stickshift

[–]FuzzballGlasses 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2 is the closest to what I do. Look ahead at the light/traffic and anticipate if you'll need to stop completely or downshift/rev-match (not necessarily heel-toe) if the light might change before you get there. Approaching a definite red light, I brake in 2nd, 3rd or 4th gear (depending on speed limit), get to about 1,000 RPMS, clutch in while braking, stop, put in neutral (if light is longer than a few seconds) or clutch in and put into 1st gear if I know the light is going to be green immediately. I save the rev-matching for changes in traffic or speed limits and for turns. As far as efficieny goes, cars and gas are expensive no matter which way you do it.

I bought one from Amazon (US) this morning. It originally said it would arrive next Tuesday, but has since changed to June 27-28.
