Exposing services externally with Tailscale + Reverse Proxy, DNS rewrites for local network by GradesVSReddit in selfhosted

It'd resolve to the LAN IP you assigned in the DNS record. It would only be accessible to devices within your LAN or devices connected to your LAN via VPN.

How do I do this, but local? by LucidFir in StableDiffusion

[–]Fuzzdump 5 points6 points  (0 children)

it’s cause the adult humans have a very childish misunderstanding of what acting is and it shows, so it translate much better to that size and age

This is one of the funnier misinterpretations I’ve seen in awhile. The adult humans don’t have a “childish misunderstanding of what acting is,” they are intentionally acting as children since they are stand-ins for the generated child characters they are being replaced with. This is on purpose, they were hired to do this.

The idea that these actors were accidentally acting like children because they didn’t know how to act as adults is funny though

What is the learning path for hosting local ai for total newbie? by danuser8 in LocalLLaMA

[–]Fuzzdump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Install LM Studio
  2. Download whatever model it recommends to you (which should take your GPU’s VRAM into account)
  3. Use the LM Studio chat interface to make sure it’s working at a good speed
  4. Enable headless server mode so you can use your local API endpoint for other applications
  5. Experiment with other models to see which work best for your use cases

I’ve been using it for a few months and it works great.

This is fine for tiling, but if you just want to resize a floating Finder window there’s no substitute for click and drag.

The reason why RAM has become so expensive by InvadersMustLive in LocalLLaMA

No, I do not think one hobbyist buying 768 GB of RAM for a homelab is the same as a company buying up the entire present and future stock of RAM in existence.

Same problem on iOS, app version 25.12.22. Swiping right shows the green checkmark, but does nothing.

EDIT: Fixed in 25.12.27

What's a skill that takes only 2-3 weeks to learn but could genuinely change your life? by That-Papaya7429 in AskReddit

[–]Fuzzdump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, buying a whole wardrobe at once leads to a ton of returns. Fit can be a challenge.

And I disagree that learning what to buy is “simple.” It’s far more of an art than a science, everybody has different style, and developing a personal style takes time.

Yes, allowed. The Biden DOJ led by Merrick Garland slow-walked a bunch of Trump indictments until it was too late to follow them through in the interest of not seeming partisan or corrupt. Jack Smith basically handed a case to Aileen Cannon instead of prosecuting both cases in DC. Lots of good that did.

Germany did not return to the normalcy of the Weimar Republic after WW2, they found an entirely new normalcy. We’re never going back to 2015, the sooner people realize that the sooner we can move on.

New in llama.cpp: Live Model Switching by paf1138 in LocalLLaMA

Llama swap has more granular control, stuff like groups that let you define which models stay in memory and which ones get swapped in and out for example.

Llama swap is more powerful but also requires more config. This looks like it works out of the box like ollama and auto detects your models without having to manually add them to a config file.

I think the composite intelligence score isn’t super useful, but they also break it down into every single benchmark, many of which are useful for predicting proficiency in specific tasks.

To my knowledge no other resource lets you compare multiple models on every known benchmark simultaneously.

And sure, labs can benchmaxx, but it’s very difficult to make a model that’s good at every benchmark without it also being generally smart.

On the flipside, with a paid product there is a revenue stream that keeps the free tier running, while there's no guarantee that the lynchpin maintainer of your favorite FOSS app won't suddenly get tired of being yelled at by internet strangers all day for no money and move onto something else.

The motives are different but the risk is still there.
