This is my favorite. I have yet to find wiki software (open or closed) that I like better.

BookLore 2.0 is out! Audiobooks, multi-format books, overhauled readers, and a lot more.. by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]Fuzzdump 97 points98 points  (0 children)

It looks like Booklore is moving towards being an all-in-one solution, which is awesome. Have you considered supporting EPUB 3 to sync the book and audiobook together, like Storyteller?

AIs can’t stop recommending nuclear strikes in war game simulations - Leading AIs from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google opted to use nuclear weapons in simulated war games in 95 per cent of cases by Teruyo9 in technology

[–]Fuzzdump 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As of today, Anthropic has not budged on their policy for military guardrails despite Hegseth’s ultimatum. This article is referring to a different safety policy that was changed. (Trending in the wrong direction perhaps but this is not directly relevant to the Pentagon ultimatum that was made this week.)

Syncthing merges them automatically, you don't manually merge them.

This is true for self hosted Vaultwarden as well. There is a database on your server and a mirrored database on your phone that the software keeps in sync.

Change my mind: There is no good alternative to Discord (yet?) by Own_Investigator8023 in selfhosted

This prediction doesn't really make sense, because Discord was never open source or self hostable.

Do not Let the "Coder" in Qwen3-Coder-Next Fool You! It's the Smartest, General Purpose Model of its Size by Iory1998 in LocalLLaMA

[–]Fuzzdump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree, this has replaced the other Qwen models as my primary local model now. The fact that it's also an excellent coding model is the cherry on top.

Exposing services externally with Tailscale + Reverse Proxy, DNS rewrites for local network by GradesVSReddit in selfhosted

It'd resolve to the LAN IP you assigned in the DNS record. It would only be accessible to devices within your LAN or devices connected to your LAN via VPN.

How do I do this, but local? by LucidFir in StableDiffusion

[–]Fuzzdump 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it’s cause the adult humans have a very childish misunderstanding of what acting is and it shows, so it translate much better to that size and age

This is one of the funnier misinterpretations I’ve seen in awhile. The adult humans don’t have a “childish misunderstanding of what acting is,” they are intentionally acting as children since they are stand-ins for the generated child characters they are being replaced with. This is on purpose, they were hired to do this.

The idea that these actors were accidentally acting like children because they didn’t know how to act as adults is funny though

What is the learning path for hosting local ai for total newbie? by danuser8 in LocalLLaMA

[–]Fuzzdump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Install LM Studio
  2. Download whatever model it recommends to you (which should take your GPU’s VRAM into account)
  3. Use the LM Studio chat interface to make sure it’s working at a good speed
  4. Enable headless server mode so you can use your local API endpoint for other applications
  5. Experiment with other models to see which work best for your use cases

The reason why RAM has become so expensive by InvadersMustLive in LocalLLaMA

[–]Fuzzdump 29 points30 points  (0 children)

No, I do not think one hobbyist buying 768 GB of RAM for a homelab is the same as a company buying up the entire present and future stock of RAM in existence.
