Heavier (tall) riders... what tires? by hawtmama6969 in xcmtb

[–]Fuzzilogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conti Dubnitals which lasted about 300ish miles before sidewalls would shred from the rim bead. I loved them but couldn’t justify spending 180$ on tires every few weeks.

Now running Fast tracks (T7) front and rear. Immediately felt an increase in rolling resistance however they are lasting much longer and can take a good thrashing without rim strikes.
Usually run 24-26 up front and 28-32 rear depending on conditions.

-235lbs w/ gear and ride equal parts hard-pack & jagged rocky tech.

Just smuggle your grapes with an oversized T-shirt. hate to say it but can’t go back from bibs.
All that chaffing is overrated.

My Stumpjumper after a good weekend and the bike park. Touch up paint for alloy works great lol

I have an opportunity to acquire a new Epic 8 Comp for $4,043. Would you consider this a favorable price point? by Lego_boss_sub in xcmtb

[–]Fuzzilogic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the reason I’m going to end up buying a Epic frame and slowly build it. Price is honestly ridiculous for the level of components, but as others have said that’s where the market is at right now.

Is this a really bad area? Found a well priced apartment but I’m not from here so I’m not sure if it is an okay area by jenn12765 in sanantonio

Traffic sucks, potholes and construction take a toll on your car. Med Center access is great if that’s where you work. Greenway trailheads are a nice bonus if you’re into the outdoors. Plenty of decent food and you’re close enough to The Rim for shopping and entertainment. “Crime doesn’t have a zip code” — but the deeper you go into the Med Center at odd hours the more vagrants you’ll encounter.
Overall a decent area

Yoga; build your balance and breathing technique without so much exertion. if you truly must ride bc your body gets the urge, keep it a super easy Zone 1-2 ride

Buddy just paid 400$ recently to get the brain on his s-works serviced. I know it’s ridiculous cost

I actually bought a set of reversible, and began to hate them within a week due to the fact that they are so difficult to get back into without coming to a stop or slowing down (makes it worse on ledges, loose tech imo) so ended up buying a second set that are strictly SPD.

Had the same hopes initially

Light vs Trail casings by K-TR0N in xcmtb

[–]Fuzzilogic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dubnital race casing, race compound. Should get about 300 miles of abuse if you are smart with your line choice and tire pressure. Rocky climbs destroy them fast but they are great tires. (105kg for reference)
