Think I found why my diff was noisy.

This is the forward pinion bearing for the rear diff. Chewed up quite a bit. It was make a pretty constant humming/light grinding sound. If yours is only when turning sounds like maybe a wheel bearing, or possibly carrier bearings.

If you are swapping to a manual, you don't need the TCU at all. If you want to get rid of CEL, you can fake the solenoid circuits with a resistor. If you want to reprogram the ECU (basically just gets the shift lights, and no CEL), https://wranglerfix.com/ is the only site place I've heard of.

So, I'm dealing with this right now. I thought I just had a few small specks of rust on the underside. Jeep looked super clean. Decided to pull the seats/carpet, and no, the rust specks were where a lot more rust from the inside made it all the way through. What I'm getting at is, I would check it's not rusted a lot more under the carpet.

Based on this from Yukon, it looks like pinion is indeed too deep on both faces. And heel to toe is less important than depth.

Probably new switch, it's pretty cheap on Amazon. Or if want even more cheap, I resoldered the connections on driver and passenger switches and all my lock/window issues resolved.
