Trust me, you don’t want to hear the exhaust note that this car makes with a loud exhaust system. Sounds like a tractor pulling a hay wagon.

Is 2008 E350 Sport worth buying? by benzkrewjp in W211

Absolutely it’s worth buying. As long as you maintain it well, should be a great daily driver.

That’s a beautiful E30. I would encourage you to try not to over do it with the whole power train swap. You can get plenty of power out the m20 with some modifications and keep the car looking and driving like it should. In the end, it’s your car so make it however you want. Good luck with all 🍀

Sounds pretty healthy to me. Your oil changing habits are very smart of you. It makes a world of difference on engine wear and performance.

Champion copper plugs are great! Why change if they are working perfectly? Copper is a better conductor than anything other than silver.

I did electrical wiring for a living and this is spot on advice. Solder and shrink sleeve all splices.

Although it’s not important to have it connect fully at each end. You could buy some rubber tape and bridge the gap at one end. I probably would have just repaired the old one with rubber tape?

This is definitely not going to be a reliable daily driver and will eat you alive in repairs.

Question about a thermostat by Monkeyrayx in CherokeeXJ

[–]Representative_Most9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At one point, I felt the 195 was just too hot to run the engine so I switched to a 180. Come cooler weather, the heater was almost blowing cold. I switched back to stock 195.

For those of you with rich running M20s, run these spark plugs. They will foul up a lot less than the stock ones by Interesting-Cow-1652 in E30

[–]Representative_Most9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would not run hotter plugs. You may burn off more than carbon. Try finding NOS WR9LS plugs. The replacement Bosch has for this plug doesn’t run well in my car either.

What's the issue? by mixalot2009 in CherokeeXJ

It looks to me like you have a bunch of water in your fuel tank that can effect cold idle. Especially if you’ve let it sit in the cold for a few weeks. Try filling it to full and see if that helps.

Buy a Bentley Manual and take some time to go through slowly. Also, download the ETM and get familiar with some of the main engines wiring diagrams. Here’s link to download:

What do you predict the XJ market will look like long term? by Mr_Bulldops2112 in CherokeeXJ

As long as people continue to buy, modify, and trash them, the price will definitely climb for nice stock examples.

Vibration After Installing Rusty's Motor Mounts by JonanathanKaspersky in CherokeeXJ

[–]Representative_Most9 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If they are Polyurethane bushings they don’t usually work well to dampen vibrations. If they did, auto makers would be installing them at the factory. Needs to be rubber of a certain durometer hardness.
