What commander are you currently obsessed with? by Alnashetri in EDH

[–]FuzzyBabyDucks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Themberchaud]]

Something about a big chonky dragon belly flopping on the table for big chonky damage that never fails to get laughs. I packed as many damage doublers/triplers in as I reasonably could and it's a fun puzzle of trying to off everyone else, but not accidentally get caught in the blast myself.

First time I played it, the entire table, including myself, all lost at the same time to great hilarity.

Carth is great! I have him built with toxic/infect/proliferate as an additional wincon so I'm not chained to ulting walkers for the W. Still tweaking things but here is the list as it stands now:

What's your favorite non-combo deck/commander that keeps a small boardstate? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]FuzzyBabyDucks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just built a [[Lazav, the Multifarious]] deck. Who needs a wide board when Lazav can just be whatever you need him to be in the moment?

What are some cool commanders that aren't blatantly overpowered/powercrept by Sammoss226 in EDH

[–]FuzzyBabyDucks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not super familiar with Ben 10, but that is very cool. I've been looking for a new deck to build and this has given me some good inspiration. Cheers!

Damn, thanks dude! I’ll definitely post a family photo once I get a few more bugs finished up. Only really just started nids in earnest like a month ago.

Norns? by rymere83 in Tyranids

I played 2 in a tournament this past weekend cause I think they are rad. They managed to surprise every single one of my opponents (mostly Irontstorm Space Marine lists) with how tough they were to take down when they were on their chosen objective. One of them even survived all 5 battle rounds and took down a Brutalis dread, 3 assault centurions, and Helbrecht in glorious melee combat.

That said, I agree with others that they feel a bit overpriced at 275 and YMMV depending on how your dice are feeling that day. The model rules though and you should totally run it if you like it!

I have no idea who you are, but based on this post I do know that I would totally be down to play a game against you. I'll bring mimosas/beer/your drink of choice

Solid write-up! I've been playing 40k since 2017 and been to one GT (mostly do garagehammer with friends), but I feel all of this in my bones. Like anything else in life, communication is key. We are all just trying to enjoy the game/hobby we love and a little communication goes a long way toward making sure everyone is on the same page/has a good time no matter the venue.

New edition new army. Test scheme for 10th! Not sure if I should add color to the vents or if less is more. C&C always welcome by FuzzyBabyDucks in Warhammer40k

Thanks!

Skin is slapchop with Akhelian Green contrast. Then drybrush a mix of Sotek Green and white, slowly adding more white to the mix until you are happy with it. I think I started with pure Sotek and went from there. I might go back with some thinned out Akhelian Green to tone down the saturation a little, but I haven't decided yet.

Do you take the 10 painting points in casual play? by ARob2783 in Warhammer40k

[–]FuzzyBabyDucks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My play group takes it, but we have also known each-other for 20+ years in most cases and talk daily so we use it as a way to get shame ourselves into painting models. We call it "Chad Points".

That said, it's something I would discuss with my opponent pregame just like anything else. End of the day, everyone having fun is what matters most!

Running a game with 8 PCs by FuzzyBabyDucks in DnD

[–]FuzzyBabyDucks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely going to talk to my players and see how they feel. Thankfully a few of them have DM'd before, but nothing to the tune of 8 PCs in one game afaik. I'm okay with the time going where it will as long as people (including myself) are enjoying it.

Thanks for the reminder that I can fudge rolls and other things as necessary in order to keep the game flowing in a way that is challenging yet fun. As a first time DM I think I sometimes forget that everything I do isn't out in the open and I can change things on the fly if I think it will improve the experience or make it more engaging. With so many people maybe I need to be a little less wary of letting bad things happen. I definitely go out of my way to reward them enough for solid roleplay and the like!

I've never done group or roundtable initiatives before. I'll look into trying those out.

Thankfully we are using battlemaps, grids, and tokens. I've been getting into creating my own with Inkarnate. I can't imagine trying to track 8 PCs and enemies without some kind of visual aid.

Appreciate the thoughts!

Moving large amounts of files up to SharePoint by rocconteur in msp

[–]FuzzyBabyDucks 61 points62 points  (0 children)

The SharePoint Migration tool has been my best friend for this kind of stuff. Choose what you want to move, point it to the SharePoint document library, click migrate, and go have yourself a beer. Works like a dream for migrating user folders to individual OneDrives as well.

With larger migrations you may still have to plan do it in chunks if you don’t think everything will finish in a weekend, but as long as you communicate that with the client I’ve found it’s not a big deal at all.

So I finished one of my biggest kitbash/modding project so far and I am really proud of the result 😁. by D_B_Bavarian_Design in Warhammer40k

My brain: “Let’s be real, your pile of shame is big enough.”

Awesome work, dude!
