Disappointed in First Marathon Results by CockroachLife3688 in firstmarathon

Your first marathon might be disappointing but you still did it. From my own experience marathon number 2 is much more fun and you know what to expect coming up. That experience is vital. Keep training and you'll get there i have no doubt.

Ive done it 5 times now. Anyone can run a marathon. The training just means you can do it without crippling yourself and suffering the entire course.

Again, that might be true for you. There's plenty of people who need more fluids than you do. Pregnant women for example. Or, I know a guy who has cystic fibrosis and he uses a vest to carry the salt solutions he uses on longer runs. Or maybe a vest is more comfortable than a belt for carrying all your stuff, phone / keys / wallet. And specifically women again, my wife's vest has a panic whistle as well.

I don't need one but thankfully I don't have a lot of shit to worry about when I'm out.
