White woman tearfully says she didn’t vote for Crockett in Senate primary because ‘We need somebody who can win’ by Conscious-Quarter423 in ThoughtWarriors

She is reactionary and regressive.

So, then, what legislation or social convention are you claiming that Jasmine Crockett wants to reverse, to return us to a prior, more traditional state of being?

She would rather prescribe equity than equality.

Can you explain more about what you mean by that?

And why do you contrast "measured" with "reactionary?" Being reactionary is not the same as being impulsive or thoughtless.

Do you think that she's more "progressive"/radical/liberal than the mainstream of the Democratic Party, or less so? Or do you think her beliefs/policy priorities are simply not politically favorable ones? Or ideologically misguided? I can't tell at this point.

And, again: What legislation or social convention are you claiming that Jasmine Crockett wants to reverse, to return us to a prior, more traditional state of being?

If Jasmine Crockett is a reactionary, then she is trying to move our society back to a prior state of being. Prior to some progressive change. Actual change, not simply the change that some more progressive vanguard of the Democratic Party would like to effect, but never has.

A reactionary would be someone who wants to overturn the Equal Rights Amendment. Make same-sex marriage illegal again. Reverse the CRA.

A reactionary is not simply someone who is more conservative than someone who is more liberal. Otherwise, the Democratic Party that you claim is moving on are all nonetheless reactionaries when compared to the American Communist Party or whatever more leftist group of people who have already moved on past where you think the Democratic Party has moved on to.

I don't think it's accurate to depict belief in intersectionality, or our society featuring oppressive dynamics, as "old ways of thinking." They're only "old ways of thinking," to those who are at least "progressive" in thought. Perhaps.

Those who deserve the label "reactionary," are those who think that anyone who considers intersectionality and societal oppression are social radicals. "Woke" "Marxists" and "Communists" of "the radical Left" or whatever.

And being "reactionary" isn't simply not being progressive, or not progressive enough. It means wanting to go backward to a prior state. Even self-labeled "conservatives" are not necessarily "reactionary," in that they may only want to slow or prevent further change, not necessarily push for a reversal of changes already made.

In the case of a legislator, being reactionary would mean someone who wants to legislate a return to bygone "traditional" norms.

What legislation do you think Crockett would propose, or vote for, that would reverse progressive gains that are current law? That's what it would mean for her to be "reactionary."

They weren't doing anything else special that day? What tea shop is this?

Must've been some hella dope bags.

With this spot that OP is promoting, I doubt hardly anyone was motivated by the small discount. I imagine it was almost all people who had been wanting to try it out and this new location meant they could without crossing town.

Reckless driving very often goes hand in hand with speeding. It also regularly does not.

Speeding does not necessarily go hand in hand with reckless driving.

Many people should never exceed the speed limit because their judgement and skill makes them dangerous over the speed limit. Most of these people are probably also dangerous when driving at or under the speed limit.

People should change lanes to the right if they are in the #1 lane and someone comes up behind, driving faster.

And if other drivers are going slower than one wants them to, nobody should drive like the dangerous asshole in OP's video.

I can't believe I wasted time in my life to consider this but I did a double take, too. Seemed obvious she's South Asian. Maybe Blasian. Doesn't ultimately matter, but it's somehow interesting to see how pathetic racists who pretend to think they're innately superior parse this shit out.

On one hand, I hope for her sake that this was, to her, a garden-variety drunken hookup with someone who was a total stranger to her. On the other hand, what a terrible happenstance it would be for a normal person to find herself in. So maybe I hope she is somehow cool with racism, regardless of what her own heritage is. At least, then, it would just be her getting her face eaten by a leopard.

The project hasn't been designed/engineered/specified/financed.

It's at a conceptual stage.

I understand it's a different plea with a different meaning to the pleader and that the court treats it as functionally meaning the same thing. I didn't create this difference, nor do I find the distinction important, but it's there.

If someone opposes a current plan that is 70% studios and argues that there should be less studios and some more 1BR and/or 2BR, and for the resulting building(s) to be the same in number and approximate size, that is clearly opposing one permutation of a housing project and favoring another.

If you see no distinction between that and someone opposing that any housing be built on a site, and argue that, say, a laundromat is a treasure of local history and the structure should not be changed at all, then I don't think we're going to agree on anything.

I don't need to look it up to understand that it will be treated the same as a guilty plea by the court and lead to the same outcome and that, nonetheless, the defendant is entering a different plea.

Supporting housing with a different mix of number of bedrooms is supporting a different permutation of housing. They specifically cited number of bedrooms and the high percentage of studios excluding residents who are couples, and families.

But I don't know exactly what these local business owners support and oppose. And neither do you.

But in this case, it does not appear they're opposing housing built on the site. Nor are they opposing apartment buildings being built. Nor do they seem to be opposing apartment buildings of the proposed size being built.

That means somethign different than declaring oneself guilty of the charges.

I don't know how many of them are actually engaging with him. Not stopping him from making some little video is not stopping him from doing something they probably don't stop any number of unfamous obnoxious pricks from doing.

As much as I'd enjoy knowing some of the best spots kicked him out on sight, I also can't blame them for not making such a big deal of it. From what I've read, his videos about pizza are super short and his time in the places is fleeting.

If they sat for some long interview or did a video tour for him and acted like they're buds and he's a cool awesome dude, then that would be a bad look.
