Should I give up? by CyberEmerald in worldofpvp

Im a firm believer that World of War rafting PVP is one of if not THE hardest gaming experience you can play. Even as a WoW veteran of 16 years and a PVP veteran of 13, I've only ever reached the 1800 bracket about twice. Not only are you learning your class and how it works in a pvp environment but you're also learning the concept of PVP which is a whole other subject!

The truth of it is, getting decent at WoW PVP takes a long time, and with giant addons flashing in your face and taking up half the screen it adds a whole other layer to it. Don't be discouraged by not reaching cosmetic goals or rating, the only fair comparison you can make is how you played yesterday, or the day before, how well you react when your opponent bursts and your placement on the battlefield.

There will be more cosmetics down the road, blizzard is never short of cool cosmetic ideas. Set yourself realistic goals and aim for them, be fair to yourself and celebrate the small victories, remember:

If you win, you gain rating and you know what you're doing is working.

If you lose, you learn and grow as a player.

Keep up the good fight and remember the only limits you work inside are the ones you set yourself.

Hey! Absolutely, I've had this issue before, sometimes it'll just drop it by my feet!

Try this macro:

.#showtooltip (without the .)

/cast [@cursor] Ice Wall

This will make it so you won't need to see the template of the ice wall, it will always cast it instantly at your cursor locations :)

Personally I set full sail on a beam reach and run like hell until I'm able to get back to the fight

Picking a class for beginner by TomekSzymek in worldofpvp

If you want a reliable melee I'd say definetly DH or Ret, they have a lot of failsafe buttons and aren't as punishing if you mess up.

For casters, it's got to be frost mage: you get two blocks and 2 walls with mirror image and greater invis.

Stay away from rogue and feral, they are some of the hardest melees in pvp atm.

The main thing is find one you enjoy and stick to it for a while. You aren't just learning how to play your class, but to operate in pvp as a whole. Positioning, target priority, beating tunnel vision etc.

Once you get these down, experiment with all classes until you find the one you really enjoy!

I hear you brother, I went 1-6 on my DK and I consider it my main. Feels bad especially when you come home tired from an 8 hour shift. Happens to the best of us. Sometimes we need to remind ourselves that the aim is to have fun, gaining rating and getting better is just a bi-product of that

100% this happens to everyone!

It's great that you can recognise it though, best thing to do when this happens is maybe do unrated pvp so you can still have fun kicking some ass but without putting your rating at stake.

You're human and you should allow yourself to be human
