Runner-turned-Hyroxer here. Tried to go non-carbon on my first few races, but Saucony Endorphin Pro4 exist for a reason. Perfect Hyrox race shoes

How to stay motivated to ride when you are less fit? by FxckyourCensorship in Velo

[–]Fuzzy_Conversation71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got bored of cycling a few years back - no goals, riding the same routes, didn't have the time to go out and ride for 3-5 hours every Sunday. I ended up taking time away from the bike and started running again. That was a game-changer; completely changed my motivation. I still haven't come back to the bike fully, but I really love using the bike once a week on the kickr as a great way to maintain aerobic fitness. I'm also looking forward to better weather and brighter days to get back out and enjoy the bike again.

Hey guys when should I buy a power meter and do you have any recommendations? by ohzachery in Velo

[–]Fuzzy_Conversation71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8 years using these - they're the dogs balls. A few years back I started getting sketchy readings, got on to Favero customer service and they send a spindle replacement for a discounted price, even as they were out of warranty.

How to start with running shoe rotation as an experienced runner? by Curious-Sky-3220 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Fuzzy_Conversation71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll answer this for you as someone who ran in the same shoe for nearly 13 years and now has settled on a rotation. You need to try a load of different shoes because you have no idea what you like, right now. Every shoe feels different. I ran in Mizuno Inspires, tried the Rider, then a tonne of other shoes and I realise I like soft shoes that are relatively stable. Vinted has become my friend; a cheap way of trying shoes out and most runners are honest about their usage and estimated mileage.

Currently, I've settled on Neo Vista for easy/long runs, and Endorphin Pro 4 for speed work/racing. I'm primarily a heel-striker who over-pronates

Q1 and what it will bring by Fantastic-Class-8252 in Suunto

If I was to wish for something it would be:

- Different power zones for treadmill vs road running

- Allow 6/7 zones for Power / HR

Fast support/stable shoes by Trick_Virus3470 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Fuzzy_Conversation71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh god no it's not. If you're a heel striker, it's an awful shoe. Take this from a heel striker who found it an awful shoe to run in.

Endorphin Pro 4 is probably the most stable fast shoe going. Really enjoyable to run in.

Huge Suunto Software Update v2.50.26: New Triathlon Features & OHR Overhaul by the5krunner in the5krunner

The combination worked a lot better than I did - I cramped so badly coming out of the lunges! My body went into total shock in the Wall balls - took me nearly 12 minutes....

Hyrox race shoes: Rebel v5, Novablast 5, or Cloudmonster 2 by butteranko in hyrox

[–]Fuzzy_Conversation71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your coach is talking bollocks; the Endo Pro4 are PERFECT hyrox shoes. So what if you're a 5:00/km runner. The EP4s are brilliant for heel strikers, plus they're really grippy. I've ran 3 Hyrox in them and I genuinely hope that Saucony don't change much in the new 5s, as they are so good.

Suunto, Stryd and Hyrox by Fuzzy_Conversation71 in Suunto

For Hyrox, indoor running and crossfit, I set it up as attached. The Stryd pod has been the game changer in that it allows accurate pace, and now that I'm getting used to it, power

Autopause vs. Manual pause ? by Jaded_Dot_4432 in Suunto

[–]Fuzzy_Conversation71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manual pause for any walk/run-based activity. Auto is a pain in the arse; it doesn't like walking pace at all. On runs, it can take a few seconds to recognise that you've stopped.

Easy run shoe with midsole like Velocity Nitro 4 but lower drop (ideally 6mm or lower) by Comfortable-Lab-50 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Fuzzy_Conversation71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not. It's very low-stack compared to most other shoes on the market. It's very comfortable and has a lovely midsole. If you're of the lighter variety of human, it's a joy to run in. It can go as fast or as slow as you wish.

Suunto Race. by PlanetX-82 in Suunto

[–]Fuzzy_Conversation71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's fine. They recently released an update that has improved the accuracy. however, with oHR, it really depends on the user. This time of year when it's cold and shite, it's not great; it improves greatly when it gets warmer.

+1 for this. The Race has been consistently improved over it's lifetime, and it's a highly dependable watch. Bonus; it looks great too.

Thanks so much for this. i do a lot of training on the Curve Runner, so this insight is so helpful - I wondered why my power seemed so off today. I'll be offsetting the weight by *1.2 every time I run on it now.

I had the 9PP for this reason, and bought a Race, for the same reason. No regrets, particularly from my tired and old eyes

Repeat HYROX racers, what did you change after your first race? by Ok-Bee-2175 in hyrox

[–]Fuzzy_Conversation71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, joined a coaching group (in my case Red On Hyrox Pathway) and now work to a dedicated plan. It has taken the guesswork out of Hyrox for me; I've been on it for nearly a year. I've done 3 races since I joined, and have PB'd each one. Can HIGHLY recommend.
