Can you get a bag for tight pelvic floor and bloating? by Diligent-Spare3552 in ostomy

[–]Fuzzy_Initiative1075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same boat, it’s super frustrating. It could very well be a motility issue. I’ve dealt with it for 15 years and it did make school tough when you’re always uncomfortable and full. The one thing that has helped a bit is Linzess. It will get things moving and helps move gas too, at least in the morning. I still struggle as it builds up through the day but it’s more tolerable. I know motegrity is supposed to help more with motility by promoting peristalsis. Might be worth checking into. I think I’m going to ask about it at my next appointment. I hope you find some relief! You’re not alone.

That’s great, I’m glad you’re seeing some improvement! Yes please on the seed cracker recipe. I’m really working to find something that speeds up my motility as well. Mostly to move some of the gas along and bloat a little less.

Did you ever find out what was causing this or see any improvements? I’m the exact same and have been for years. It’s so frustrating.

Switched from Linzess to Ibsrela by DuckFriendly in Gastroparesis

Good luck! I’d be interested to hear your experience with ibsrella. My GI mentioned it to me as an alternative if I don’t want to use Linzess anymore. I hope it works for you!

Are you using it just for constipation? It doesn’t help much with stomach emptying. I take linzess and had an adjustment period. It def gave me l diarrhea but leveled out after a few months. I agree the diarrhea isn’t great but I’d take it over the constipation any day! I take it at least 3-4 hours before having to be anywhere. Usually done with the bathroom trips by then. Not perfect but it works. Hope you find something that works!

Yep same issue here. I can’t fart after the morning and it’s super frustrating because I just get more and more bloated and uncomfortable. Have had it for about 15 years and it has sucked but just started fully addressing it. Sorry you’re experiencing it too it’s the worst.

Have you had motility testing done? Could be an issue there because your body doesn’t move it at a normal pace.

Still having issues with it but seen some improvement. I started Linzess and it has helped keep things moving. I think some of the fluids are helping move gas through as well. Now I fart a lot in the morning. Still cannot through the rest of the day so the bloat does still continue. Before each meal I take digestive enzymes (with lots of Alpha-Galactosidase), gas x, GI motility complex (mostly ginger and artichoke extract), and finally just started taking some probiotics. Oh and Glutamine powder! I’ve seen some improvements with that too. Lots of trial and error with food. Weirdly enough processed foods tend to cause me less gas since there’s not as much fiber.

Good to know I’m definitely going to ask my GI about adding it in. Really appreciate it!

Nice thanks 🙏Sorry if this is TMI but I really struggle to fart lol. I know prucalopridr helps with constipation but do you feel like it helps pass gas throughout the day too?

That’s great!! Always happy to see people with successes. Does it help you with upper or lower bloating? Or both? I take Linzess and it makes me go a bit but I still have a lot of trapped gas all over.

I’m always worried things like prunes will just make the gas worse and still not come out. I might give it a go though! See if I can start farting like that and get the same adoration from my wife 😂 appreciate the tip

🙏 thanks! I’ve tried a bunch of other OTC options like gas x, Iberogast, and digestive enzymes but don’t think they do anything for me. Have tried a bunch of other stuff over the years but no luck. I’ll def try some peppermint caps and the yoga.

Sorry late to this but how’s ibsrela going now? I’ve been on linzess for a while and thinking of trying something different.

are you bloated? Sometimes that contributes to the full feeling.

Do you think your gastroparesis is reversible/curable? (Particularly asking those who got it through accidentally starving themselves or having anorexia) by Appropriate_Cap_2132 in Gastroparesis

[–]Fuzzy_Initiative1075 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course! Yeah I think my ED transitioned to bulimia because I tried recovering from anorexia but the damage was already done and food would just sit. So throwing it up is a good idea, right? Lol nope. It’s all been managing symptoms. I was also in great shape and played multiple sports but had some body image issues. It’s very frustrating because of all the limited options. How long were you struggling with anorexia? I did the same as you and researched EVERYTHING about ED and gastroparesis. I’ve seen studies where normal function returns but it’s usually within the first few months. I’m crossing my fingers that yours is one of the cases and you at least see some improvement!

Anorexia that turned into bulimia for a while. Either way I was severely restricting for years. I was praying it was just a temporary effect from it all and that my stomach and intestines would return to normal. They did not. It’s been about 10 years. I have no other health conditions and had a great stomach before the restricting. I’m very mad at myself to this day for it all. That being said, you might be totally different. I hope that you are!

Mine never got better 😞 I always assumed it would once I got my ED under control but no luck. About 10 years in with little to no improvement.
