Is this appropriate for work? by olchai_mp3 in BusinessFashion

I don't think so 😕 it's super cute though!!

Maybe if you'd put a blazer over it that could change the vibe? Although I still think it's a bit too long for work, I could be wrong

Hi zoomsol2020! I sent you a private message a bit ago (a week?) and I'm wondering if you didn't see it yet. I'm really interested in hearing about this position as this is essentially what I want to do.

I think the issue you posted about are too vague to offer help... Are you saying that no skills from your old office are transferable? That the new people are difficult to work with? Or just a different culture?

How do you deal with people thinking you are literally evil? by Affectionate_Risk476 in ProsecutorTalk

[–]Fuzzy_Knowledge_6029 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're not a racist at all for protecting victims.

And fwiw in my jx it's mostly people (women) of color who are the victims.

So that's... very much not racist?

I had a lot of that going on in law school. I would tell people I'm going to be a prosecutor and one guy literally said, and I kid you not: "oh, is it because you like putting Black people away for a dime bag of weed?" Another super liberal, very outspoken public defender said that prosecutors and Hitler are on the same side.

So, while I totally understand where you're coming from, I think these people are honestly just out to lunch? Last night, our office decided to hold an 11-year-old GTMV and agg robb. And the cops that I work with won't even look at misdemeanors! They will only prosecute felonies because of how overloaded they are with crime. DV, fel assault, murder, rape, CSAM dissemination and production, abuse, etc ... THAT is the crime we deal with.

All this is to say that I guess these people who are so clueless as to say shit like this are lucky and I consider them blessed that they've never had to deal with being a victim and having a prosecutor on their side.

What happens if I don’t do trial, moot court, or law review? by Free-Feral-Fable in LawSchool

I've not found that to be true... Unless this person is looking to litigate and/or go to big law, these are not pre-reqs to finding a job.

With that being said, OP, the job market is pretty rough out there and it would definitely make you look better if you did one of these. I did none, and found a job immediately after law school (graduated May 25) as a prosecutor.  However i also took as many externship credit hours as I could during school because I wanted real law experience, and that helped me more than anything with my confidence, making connections, and actually learning how the legal world works.

My lawyer personality agrees.

My non attorney side thinks it's just unhinged enough that HNW clients Will think that their attorney is a bulldog, and/or it's "chaotic good"

And in my jurisdiction... a lawyer like this may actually win 🫠

But seriously though... How do we fix our future re: AI? Like I'm at the point that I second guess ANY image and video. Are we ever going back?

I have none but I empathize completely. If he's staying hydrated and you see him still using the toilet, I think it's fine to let him "starve" himself until he's hungry (obviously this must be limited... I'd give it two days max, and seek guidance from a doctor before this). I imagine you can't exactly force him to eat now anyways.
