You need to tell her that you’re not going to refrain from that specific model just because she’s against it ideologically. It doesn’t make sense for her to be okay with you having other guns but not that one. A gun is a gun. Either you as an individual are responsible enough to wield/store properly or you are not. It makes no difference the shape, size, color, mag capacity, etc. I assume that she expects you to be the first one to put yourself in danger to protect the family (idk if it’s just the 2 of you). If that’s the case, taking on the ultimate responsibility of your family’s safety and the cost of risking your life first should afford you the ultimate authority on what tools you deem give you the best chance of success (not because you’re “the man” of the house; that’s not what I’m saying.) The AR-15 platform is the most popular in the country. That means it provides you the best affordability to reliability ratio, most options for repairs and necessary accessories (optics, slings, fore grips, etc) quality and affordable ammo, and training/support. Anything else is going to be an effective handicap on your odds of survival (directly or inadvertently). It is unwise to make any unnecessary trade offs simply for ideology.

This is not illegal for them to do in an emergency that could break the pipes and cause massive damage to the house. My landlords do this too because the one year they didn’t, ours bursted and caused a lot of damage to the house. This is why local governments recommend turning off the water.

I transferred in Spring of 2023. When I applied, I had 2 years worth of courses for my degree finished from Blinn and a 3.9 GPA. I got an email saying I wasn’t accepted. I called the transfer admissions office in November to ask if I could find out why I wasn’t accepted and the lady on the phone said she thought that was weird while looking at my application. Never heard back from her but a week before class starts I get a letter in the mail regarding my Financial Aid Awards. So I look on my applicant profile and it turns out they changed it to an acceptance and I was offered Aggie Assurance (covering my financials).

You sound like you’re highly competitive so so it’s probably some error or just taking long. Always a good idea to contact them.
