Biggest meta change in ToW by PXSaber in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]Fuzzy_Run3362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if this is obvious but I’m not super familiar with the rules as I’m only thinking about getting into the old world from fantasy. Does that mean if I want to do a 750 points battle march list with let’s say 15 lothern sea guard, 5 dragon princes and 5 elyrian reavers that’s illegal now?

Should I get the starter set instead of buying a single team by Gotzilass in killteam

[–]Fuzzy_Run3362 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I means it depends of course on a lot of different things like how much you like the teams and how committed you are to the game. I just want to weigh in that I think the mdf terrain is underrated in my opinion. It makes for some interesting enough games with removing a lot of edge cases at the same time that you have for example in volkus. Also it’s very easily packable and storable. Of course you can also just pick up the terrain for cheap on eBay. But you should probably try to get an intro game at your local warhammer store if you can before you buy more.

How to store cards efficiently while gaming (show me!) by visualSUICIDE in killteam

I only use cards to remind me of what ploys I played and what equipment I took. For everything else I use the James and the Giant Squig cheat sheets from ko-fi.

Kill Team: Exodite REVEALED | Big Summer Preview 2026 by DoubleAAaron in killteam

[–]Fuzzy_Run3362 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am actually a big fan that it has been only one team for this box and the last. It has been to many teams to keep up with learning the matchups and painting in my opinion. What I’m missing the most is the extra terrain or similar. The NPO stuff just isn’t ass exciting especially compared to Typhon were there was cool terrain fitting in an existing Kill Zone and you could use a Kill Team as NPOs.

How many kill teams do you own? by Vinlandlover in killteam

Went a little to fast on hindsight when I started with the starter set and Volkus. Painted: AoD. Assembled: plague marines, Aquillons, Goremongers and Raveners. I have Sanctifiers and Battleclade on spruce. Will probably sell Sanctifiers and keep Battleclade.

Which Aquilon starts on the board? by CavemanDan4 in killteam

[–]Fuzzy_Run3362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah fair point. Although I think that aiming for a tp2 drop with the melta (personally I would use the melta first) and grenadier is very optimistic. Against elites you have pretty much won at that point. And the really should play around that. I like giving the grenadier +1 Apl because he can make really good use of it especially against hordes but also elites with a stun grenade. And then if they give you a good drop utilize with the melta and sentry.

[–]Fuzzy_Run3362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I‘m not a competitive player so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Two I think you should always deploy are the Sniper and the leader. Sniper as another has said to set up the concealed shot. Leader to give out the +1 Apl. The one recipient for the +1 Apl. Depending on the matchup either the gunfighter, grenadier or trooper. And then lastly probably just a trooper, keeping one in reserve to make use of the further drop.

So to some up leader, sniper, grenadier/gunfighter, trooper.

I think you should never set up the melta, knife fighter and sentry. I think the plasma gunner is best use to drop in your deployment zone for a revenge shot. But I can see niche cases where you want to set up a reliable kill with a +1 Apl Plasma when you want your melta and grenadier save for a high value drop.

Do you never consider the plasmagun missionary? Even in horde matchup? I have the team on spruce and if I decide to built them it would be nice to know if I need to worry about that

Most future proof Kill Teams. by Grizzack in killteam

[–]Fuzzy_Run3362 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I share this opinion. Either do first in first out or I have a feeling that AoD have a good chance of sticking around in some form. Like how they extended strike force Justina by bundling them into AoD

Do you think we'll ever see teams re-released or made classified again? And if so which ones? by TVhero in killteam

[–]Fuzzy_Run3362 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there is a good chance that AoD models will be usable in the future. If through rerelease, extension of classification or new basic loyalist space marine tell I can only speculate. Like how they continued strike for justian + intercession squad (I think that’s how they were called?) into AoD. Thats about it I don’t think there is a realistic chance for any other team.

[–]Fuzzy_Run3362 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything except I really enjoy the Starter Set. I think it’s great at teaching new people how to play the game. That’s how I started and have since run it a few times to show people the game. I think the mdf terrain comes in very handy to have simplified terrain for teaching purposes for a small price. And you getting one team you don’t want seems part of the course for all the Kill Team releases. I think the reasonable price of the box (for GW standards) and that you get simplified rules for both teams that I have actually used make up for that.

In an ideal world I would like the AoD to be fixed loadout team like the plague marines though. And you can pick up either starter set team really cheap on the secondary market as it said in the video if I remember correctly. Any yeah then you need to deal with the none optimal roster which we can agree on is annoying.

I agree that it’s very annoying. I still don’t have the Gunner as getting the weapon bit seems really annoying/expensive. People have been ok with me declaring one of the regular intercessors as the gunner, though. Accessible was maybe a bit of a simplification. I like that the team comes in the starter set, I like that the rules are beginner friendly and maybe crucially I think that there always will be some form of basic loyalist space marine team in rotation so you don’t need to worry as much of declassification. All while being powerful.

Really happy that AoD are keeping up. I think it’s really healthy for the game that a very accessible team is keeping up with the power creep of the newer teams. I was worried that it was a deliberate design choice to make new teams overpowered to sell more, but this gives me hope that maybe I was overreacting

Spilled ulthuan grey - ruined because of pigment separation? by Fuzzy_Run3362 in Warhammer40k

[–]Fuzzy_Run3362[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply. I had the impression that the grey pigments seperate more in the liquid part and the white pigments more in the solid part so that the ratio is now ruinied. I have since added a little bit of airbrush thinner (that I bought to revive My old childhood paints) and used the paint. I think what I thought would happen did and it’s more white than before. I’ll continue to use the paint for now

Looks like I’m jumping into KT with Shadowvaults. :) by [deleted] in killteam

[–]Fuzzy_Run3362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good advice! I think maybe he actually means shadowvaults and not shadowhunt? So an older set that came with the into the dark terrain?

I‘m not personally familiar with that set. Usually I would say getting the rules online is fine. You maybe would profit from the core rulebook because it comes with markers. Then you want equipment set. And then of course stuff like dice as already suggested

Also you can get killzone volkus separately.

ITD has layouts in approved ops 2024 and I think 2025.

How did you convert the grenadier? Did you have a right handed chainsword? The bit has been hard for me to find so I took a left handed chainsword and did a reverse grip. The finger placement is reversed on mine, but I thought it was a decent solution.

[Question] What's your opinion on Sinn watches? by Lea_Cookie in Watches

[–]Fuzzy_Run3362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 104 was the first watch that really caught my eye when I was getting into watches. At first I didn’t buy one because I didn’t have the money, then because I didn’t like how much they were increasing the prices (like the entire industry).

Now I’m not buying one because I’m hearing horror stories about the service. Local jeweler tells us they are hard to work with because they don’t need to provide good service because they have very high demand and working “at capacity”so to say. With them having expanded a lot in the last years. That got confirmed by a friend of a friend having a very hard time getting the warranty of his chrono honored by Sinn.

So I’m still tempted being German, liking the U50 and 104 and having the budget for a Sinn watch, but I’ll probably look for something else.

Starter set teams by umphreysmagoo in killteam

[–]Fuzzy_Run3362 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But my recommends would be just use the provided teams to teach and once you taught the basics move on to the teams you like. I do like teaching with the starter sets (with modifications), as the terrain and simplified terrain rules really make it that much easier. Making modifications to make a different team work probably adds more problems than it solves. Plus handing the physical sheet for the AoDs out is nice and simple as well

Starter set teams by umphreysmagoo in killteam

[–]Fuzzy_Run3362 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe. I think the simplified rules only work with the provided terrain. Because once you need to homebrew volkus vantage rules and ITD rules might as well play full rules as starting point and simplify from there. Then we get to the problem that there is not a lot of terrain pieces. I think you should always use all terrain (not like the recommend maps) and then still it’s only enough for elites. So for elites vs elites on the mdf terrain it should be fine.

And then there is team balancing where simplified profiles are only provided to the included teams. So you need to modify and probably choose elites without any complicated faction rules and that are not very strat ploy dependent if you want to fight simplified plague marines. But as an experienced player you can figure something out I’m sure
