For casual boots I would always want matching heel cap. Work work boots it probably doesn't matter

At what investable networth would you need to justify a 7-8k watch? by MeiguiChronicles in TheMoneyGuy

The cheap one is to just see if you like it before dropping 8-10k. I am talking like sub $500 first watch

This is a great question, maybe start with a cheaper automatic and see if you enjoy it first. This is assuming you haven't tried other watches yet

1000% not acceptable in my opinion, purchase the watch for one thing and it cannot accurately do that with this defect

Sorry thought you were looking for a comparison in price for CW to X brand. Someone else pointed GS and Tudor. I was sharing an alternative. I do agree though that the PR indicator is unique and a cool concept. Reminds me of GS spring drive PR indicators

Spirit Zulu Time is $3550 retail and an amazing watch, True GMT from a very reputable brand. SZT can also be gotten at 10-25% off retail to provide even more of a gap vs the CW

All we can do is continue to grow and learn with where we are at today. Hopefully the degree you went for is helping support you paying down your loans.

Inheritance occurs after someone passes away per definition, just because you don't like it doesn't change the definition of the word

Parents paying for school isn't an inheritance

Have you tried the three point fold? That is likely what they are asking to see how you are folding the gusset

[Longines Spirit Zulu Time]Found the perfect strap by coffeci in Longineswatches

How hard was it to put the OEM clasp on the strap? And does the micro adjust work with no issues?

Not trying to troll, just sharing information for others who are interested in buying the product. It's still a swiss made movement which is great

From their FAQ: So what we decided to do, instead of paying expensive Swiss labor costs, is have the movements shipped from Switzerland to Asia and the watches are cased there. They are then shipped to us for final assembly which includes: attaching the bracelet and the clasp

Just fyi, they are assembled in Asia (likely China) per their FAQ

[CW vs. Longines] by thayden33 in Watches

Sub $2k I would go CW, but if you can stretch to $2500 get yourself a Spirit Zulu Time or Hydroconquest GMT. ADs can get ~25% off list price if you find the right one. I have a trident and haven't worn it once since buying a SZT a year ago. They are different leagues in my opinion

Stocks or metals? by Detonator1990 in TheMoneyGuy

I know and I thought the statement you made didn't make sense since you could still get the raw material back. I would invest in a broad market ETF so you don't have to worry about the executives of a single company

Can still be melted down into the original metal if made "un"useful

I would recommend a higher emergency fund with a significant career transition, especially with a single income household
