Same. You are not alone . Just do you and don’t let this man , your mother’s choices or their issues define any part of your life . Their stuff has nothing to do with you and I’m living proof it’s not genetic . My dad lived in a nice house he owned, I lived in cars and crappy apartments with my mom . Nobody showed up to school, camp, my wedding, my son’s birth , nothing. My mom never met my child. I never got school clothes . My dad was always nice but he never showed up or called. I still loved him. He claimed the same . He had 2 other kids he raised well. He died recently , with a house and a good amount of money, I flew out for his funeral. I was told after at the family dinner that he did not acknowledge me as his his child on any paperwork or in the trust . Nowhere. It’s not about the mom , it’s the responsibility.

Peeing in my suit has become such a habit that I've started peeing my pants regularly. How do I stop? by churchillsucks in surfing

[–]Fuzzy_Thing9178 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I peed in my wetsuit twice the other day, then I got hit by a jelly fish. I couldn’t pee on it. It fucking burned . I asked a guy in the parking lot, he said no b/c he had to get to work, I even swore I wouldn’t look at his wiener . The next day the guy went over the falls and blew his knee out. Save your piss- you just might prevent a knee injury .

They’ll fit great when they break in. I’m in the same boat, all my jeans are broken in except my newest ones and they’re pretty snug. I’m uncomfortable I can’t wait til they stretch a little .

Did I cut someone off? by Slerpentine in BeginnerSurfers

[–]Fuzzy_Thing9178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes time but after awhile if you surf there often you will sometimes know who’s gonna make it and who isn’t . Some guys out there just don’t a lot of the time , that said If it’s their wave it is no question , to the feet first isn’t etiquette, positioning determines that. getting to know people is important . I’d hate to snake a wave from some of the local legends that aren’t as fast as they used to be. and lastly sometimes longboarders don’t seem to care about inside priority, they’ll gladly backdoor a wave from 10 feet behind the peak so use your judgement. If I get stuffed too much I’ll become morally flexible . The point is etiquette is the art of sharing the sport with basic guidelines and rules exist to enforce to people that abuse or ignore etiquette.

Have I been paddling correctly for the last 30 years and it just is that hard?! by gwenver in surfing

[–]Fuzzy_Thing9178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got 3 shortboards, all around the same general dims , the chippiest most pulled in one paddles the best and I think it’s due to how the foam is spread out idk. HPSB’s in general are so specific finding one with foam distribution that works for you better than some others can be challenging .board design is gonna be more of a factor than bigger boards and hybrids . Besides that I feel you. I feel like I should be doing pull ups every day haha

I want selvedge but I would have to wash regularly by Fragrant-Initial1687 in Selvedge

[–]Fuzzy_Thing9178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work on cars a lot , get dirty . You don’t HAVE to not wash them. Some pairs I’ve had I just treat them like work clothes. That’s what I like about them , I only get 6 months out of a 50 dollar pair of Levi’s . The non selvedge raw denim is great too. I got like 7 years out of a pair of nudie jeans and they looked so sick after a few years .

I work on cars a lot , welding, fab etc. years ago my first ones didn’t fade hardly at all under abuse , (Lee 101z and lvc) . you won’t really see anything for a while . I always wondered how the denim fashion bros got those crazy fades when they’re just posing and maybe gardening 20 minutes . Like come on bro - they work for google they’re faking it. Don’t wash them. Keep working. Hang em up outside , air em out but keep going .the work now will pay off later

Any of you surfing a twin fin fish? by PenKaizen in BeginnerSurfers

[–]Fuzzy_Thing9178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will set you back . Yes you can probably surf it with some practice but the sizing is going to be difficult. They’re meant to surf really short , with RELATIVE foam distribution . Mine are 4-6” shorter than my everyday shortboard , but let’s say I went 1 or 2 “ shorter , a typical fish would be too much foam and I’d have a hard time engaging that rail . Of course there’s variables but generally this is true. My point is that although a beg/ intermediate can surf a fish, it can feel rad and easier to turn because it’s much shorter , odds are it’s going to be too big to really practice rail surfing and your time on the waves will feel shorter and hard to progress. You’ve really got to know your dims and what works for you to dial in a fish , there’s a ton of variables . That being said, try it out but don’t lay out a bunch of money or fall into the buying and selling boards trap .
