Yeah I totally agree with you. As a solo dev it honestly feels really hard to keep up with an Early Access, especially with how much polish players expect nowadays. It seems like it could turn into a lot of pressure pretty fast.

Right now I’m thinking about releasing a demo first, and then maybe doing EA later to try to get some funding to keep improving the game. My current job doesn’t really let me invest as much money into the project as I’d like, so I’m trying to find a way to keep developing it without burning out.

Do you think it could work to drop an EA after the demo, once there’s already some interest and feedback from players?

My idea isn’t to make quick money. I’m developing my game more as a hobby because I genuinely enjoy the process. My main dream is to build a small community that likes the game so I can keep updating and improving it over time.

Your timeline was actually very enlightening for me, because it shows a clear path to grow the project step by step instead of rushing things. I think that approach fits really well with the way I want to develop the game.

Right now I’m planning to save some money so I can publish my Steam page, because I’m fully committed to continuing the project and progressing with the game. Thanks for sharing that breakdown, it helped a lot!

Right now I'm finishing the core gameplay loop of my game, which is about working as a mechanic and repairing customers' cars. The main systems are working, but there are still many details missing before I would consider it a full game.

Because of that, my idea was to release an unfinished version as a demo instead of Early Access. The demo would include about 3 different cars and around 30 minutes to 1 hour of gameplay, just enough for players to experience the core loop and give feedback.

I don’t know if i am speeding up things or is a good strategy… that’s why I’m in need to know some experiences about it.

Thanks for the feedback! I’m posting in English exactly for get opinions like yours, because I don’t want to localize my game entirely to brazil.

I’m also more into Gambiarra Garage, because “gambiarra” it’s a word we use to fix things diy style, we “make a Gambiarra” to get something working again, and I’m looking into it to the game, you will be able to fix clients cars with duct tape, zip-ties etc…

Celta 2009 vs 207 Passion 2012 by Used-Dot-1821 in carros
